Summer transfer window 2023

Boring truth is negotiating just takes time unless you just pay the asking price, which is a mistake we’ve made in the past. And the negotiations can only go as quickly as the selling club allows.

We were in the exact same position last summer and all the noise from the usual suspects about financial limitations, instalment deals, market struggles was exactly the same as it is now. We still ended up getting 8 total in the door. Would be better to get them in quicker this year but that’s not entirely in our hands.
Fair post this mate.

Evans Gnonto Weghorst
Why are we waiting until after preseason to bring in players? Surely we need players who have bedded into the squad are are upto speed with the gaffer's tactics before the season starts... so frustrating being an Everton fan.
mainly only those who are on top of the food chain can have that luxury. Our business will be done late late late late in the window.

I know, it’s brilliant isn’t it mate!! lol

Wouldn’t have it any other way, right up there with the Yarmalenko-meter for entertainment!!

We cant. Our scouts are on the no fly list or apparently dont hold passports.
For all we know scouts may be passing positive reports on but the decision makers are opting against signing them.

IMO people at the club are too safe and want to go with PL experience. Brighton and Brentford have proved that's not important anymore

True although Maupay struck me as a panic choice after we couldn't get players like Cornet, Broja or Dennis, and forced through by Lamps who had some idea we could play more progressive football with players who couldn't do it.

We approached for Maupay a year before we signed him but Brighton refused to sell him. Potter publicly commented on it. We went back for him, a bit like we did for Doucoure but he was a long term target.

it does feel like we have a list and we don't stray from it. This year it's Elanga again, Danjuma and Che Adams apparently. Now that may be lazy journalism but you just know with us that's our targets until they're not our targets any more and by that I mean they sign for someone else.

People aren't silly mate, they know 75 mill walked through the door from Jan - June in Kean and Gordon.

We just watched the academy be pillaged for another 10 - 15 mill.

Now Gray and a few others are linked with moves away.

People know the wages that have been cleared.

Clock it all up with nothing incoming, beyond Young.

People are justified to ask WTF.

Do we blindly just write of say the Kean and Gordon money and say, Everton you badly run rascals.

We cant just nod along and accept it like good little "customers".

Its too serious, the club are peeing down our backs and telling us its raining.
Two things,
1. With a hearing on finances coming up in October I believe the club is self regulating so it can be used as part of our defence "look we have gotten ourselves into a point of compliance no need to punish us now"
2. A lot of money is going into the new stadium. We may juts not have enough money to be throwing about on transfers.
