If we sign Gnonto, i dont believe it will be as DCL's back up option. I think he'll solely be a winger or number 10 style. I'd assume we'd also bring in another natural striker to challenge/compete with DCL.
Remember you can only challenge/compete with a person/player that is available to take up that challenge.

Just look back at all our transfers and when they are signed under kenwright. Weve been starting seasons without signings and writing off the early games until deadline day since moyes was in charge. Then bill would usually have a player sat next to him in the directors box for our home friendly just before the season starts who wouldnt be available due to injury or work permit. He wont change coz he is a narcissist and the fact weve gone through how many directors of football? And we still carry on the same inept way says alot for who does our signings. Sells like ****off a shovel mind.

Well yes, obviously, but if we have 20 points by Christmas then that’s clearly an improvement on 15 points by February, I don’t see why we “need” 25.
I think trying to predict a good total at any stage for Everton is folly, we can very much go on a 10+ winless streak at any moment!

Two things,
1. With a hearing on finances coming up in October I believe the club is self regulating so it can be used as part of our defence "look we have gotten ourselves into a point of compliance no need to punish us now"
2. A lot of money is going into the new stadium. We may juts not have enough money to be throwing about on transfers.
you aren't wrong but here's the issue.
1. We shouldn't be worrying about the hearing. Whatever happens happens and they will punish us regardless of whether we are self regulating. We need as strong a squad as possible now so if they do give us a transfer ban or god forbit a points deduction we s have the quality to get by. Us going with what we have just to beat a charge is as good as punishing ourselves anyway because this current squad will get relegated.
2. A lot of money is going into the new stadium. Cash flow is an issue but we've been told over and over again that MSP are set to invest at some point very soon so again you need to take the risk and improve the squad otherwise we will have the greatest stadium in the Championship

The biggest issue we have is we are not run like a modern football club. We have a man knocking 80 negotiating deals because he enjoys it. We have an absent owner who appears to be so detached from reality it's a minor miracle we've last this long. Until someone comes in and starts running this club like a modern day business and not a community centre we'll never progress.

Clever gambling on players from not so regarded but competitive leagues is what are only sensible option essentially we need to be Brighton like from now on.

Our scouts just don't have that kind of nouse though unfortunately.
