I'm sure our scouts would love to get him in. We're right on track to break premier league records (assembling the oldest squad in premier league history).

I'd take him for a year if we get really really desperate. He will be injured more that he plays.

Why would he? Played 37 league games last season. His injury history isn’t the reason to not sign him.

The fact he is old and isn’t very good anymore is the reason not to.

Brighton will swallow themselves up in the next couple of seasons just like Leicester/Southampton have.
It just takes a poor 18 months of not replacing certain players properly to drop back to were they came from and the larger clubs will pick them apart!

There's a real difference in the attitude of Leicester and Brighton fans compared to us. Leicester have been relegated, sure, but their fans wouldn't swap survival on the Prem for the success they have achieved. I know some Brighton fans really well and they fully expect to be back in the Championship in the not too distant future but they don't care. They're enjoying this ride almost as much as they enjoyed being promoted from League One. For us, being a top flight club is the core of our identity. Some of us can't imagine the club surviving the drop. (We would, of course.)

If the club came out and announced we are not focusing on signings but instead utilising our existing youth then it would be a lot more palatable and likely lead to a siege mentality between fans and team.

That wouldn't be ok. There is no goalscorer coming through our ranks right now who would be good enough to get us away from trouble.

In fact if the club came out and said they won't be prioritising signings, then their positions would be even more untenable than they already are.

Also said the other day the plan is 3 in 3 out - that would leave us very short in numbers. we'd have to hope the younger players can step up and possibly Dele

Proven goal scorer, gives a different dynamic, yes he's the wrong age.. but between him and dcl we might get 20 games out of them. For a low purchase fee and reasonable wages.
