I think in an ideal world we see DCL up front with Dele in his shadow striker role he performed so brilliantly in at Tottenham. Then we have a 4-4-2 to keep Dychey happy but the second striker a creative player with proven world class potential
That's a lovely dream. Unfortunately you'll wake up to the sight of Iwobi blasting the ball over Maupay's head and into the stands

If there is one certainty in life it’s that DCL and Dele won’t be starting many (probably not any) games together next season.

It's so embarrassing that he's so proud of this. Like a Daily Mail reading old man. It's like the checking shinpads nonesense.

There are lots of teams who have players far fitter than ours and they wouldn't dedicate whole days to not using the ball. And the funny thing is, their players are actually already capable of passing the ball 5 yards. We need more ball work, not less!!
Mate I don't think he's ever mentioned it until ex Burnley players started talking about it to the press....also god forbid we should start the season with a fit football team.

I'm expecting our work off the ball to be bleeding spectacular, though

Mate, we obvs will
How is it obvious? We sold a forward in January for big money, despite being in the relegation zone and the lowest scorers in the league, and brought in no replacement. We have a game in just over three weeks, a home game against a mid-table opponent, and the only fit forwards we have are one goal Maupay and Cannon who's played 2 PL games. You're perpetual faith in this club to have a plan flies full in the face of all the evidence.

I have to say, this thread at the moment is completely useless. Nothing will happen until end of transfer window . We’ll offload what we can for a pittance , and then sign the last available dregs for a fortune , and we’ll all say the squad is relegation fodder!!!!
Which, if we do what you say, it will be.

I have to say I had terrible feeling we'd get nothing done this window and that's where we're heading.
We'll get players in, just like we did last year.

Where we're at at the moment, by the names being mentioned it feels like our top targets are Toure, Danjuma, Gnonto, maybe Elanga. We've not landed them but nor have they been taken off the table so we keep working. Unless you capitulate in negotiations there's only so much you can do to force the issue.

If they come off the table, there will be more names on the list, maybe the likes of Boniface, Beto, Sarr, Harrison or Summerville who have been mentioned before but not as much- and not forgetting the fact that like last year players can go from barely mentioned at all to signed very quickly, not everything gets a running commentary in the media. The important thing is we know when to move on and don't have a situation like Broja where we just let one name drag on too long.

Obviously the sooner we get them in the better but it's a balancing act really, if you've scouted and analysed a player for a long time and decided he's the number one pick you don't give up on them because the negotiations are tough but then nor can you be messed about all summer, still three and half weeks til kick off but if we've not landed the main targets within a fortnight it's probably time to look further down the shortlist.

It is obvious we will get someone in, mate.
We already have tbh and there will be more
