They keep getting employed because clubs lack imagination. The same way Allardyce keeps getting jobs.

Often what people see as “imagination” is just emperors new clothes though mate. Listen to Gerrard, Lampard, Marsch etc in interviews and they sound like absolute geniuses.

Obviously we should be targeting getting as many in as soon as possible to have them ready for the opening game but last year was a slightly different case because with the early start due to the WC we had 5 fixtures prior to the window closing whereas this season it's 3.

Doesn't really change what we should be aiming to do (get them in ASAP) but the reality is until the hard deadline is approaching clubs and agents will often take their time and try to force you to lose patience, which is why while no club wants to be leaving their business until close to the deadline so much business does come down to the final week. Like I said above it's a balancing act.

My gut feeling is and I could be way off, any club interested in our better players may be holding off, they know we need money so will leave it as long as possible to make a bid , we don’t have the advantage due to needing to bring players in and player sales likely to be the only avenue to do that for players that command a fee.

I can’t wait for the day this club gets the major overhaul it so desperately needs. I don’t think some will know what’s hit them should the club become a success.

Its likely we will be bringing people in, but recent evidence dictates it’s far from a certainty.

Why would you want someone who complains about not being able to sign players?

- Contracts on the table for Moussa Dembele and Zaha (both unlikely with more money offered elsewhere)
- Elanga and Gnonto offers with clubs, not accepted at this point due to deal structures (players would move)
- Danjuma offer been on table for two weeks. Seems like he’s off elsewhere

Ok, let's look at Warnock, Hodgson and Dyche's records in the round. Warnock - 1 NPL challenge cup, 1 Conference title, 1 Championship title; Hodgson - 7 Swedish league titles, 2 Swedish cup, 1 Swiss cup, 1 Danish league, 1 Danish cup (last trophy 2001); Dyche - 1 Championship title.

So, Hodgson did well in second tier nations the other two have won essentially nothing.

No mate! I say it is obvious cos it really is! We have let lots of players go and were short already. Whether loans or whatever we will sign players. Now, get back to your constant doom life you seem to revel in.

Talking about Leeds on the radio now and Gnonto defo has no release clause in his contract (most of their players do but he is one of the few that don't) Harrison has some sort of clause where he can go back to a PL club on loan for a minimal fee.

Perfect, Harrison is the lad I'd take anyway. And if it's only a loan then it suits us to a tee...
