Summer transfer window 2023

Right, don't shoot the messenger here, you can take this however you want but the latest View From the Bullens podcast was one of the most depressing listens I have ever heard. Won't list everything they said, but some lowlights are:
- nothing to El Bilal Toure. No talks, nothing. Just scouted him.
- An overall budget of £25-30m without further sales.
- Putting everything into Elanga, relying on Utd doing us a favour, but Utd want more money than we are prepared to pay. Forest in now.
- Club have record lows in terms of cashflow within the business - worst ever apparently.
- Need almost all budget to go to stadium.
- Dyche happy to work with lack of players coming in. Not rocking the boat, as he is used to it.

Also learnt that the recruitment team did not recommend Mykolenko, Benitez just signed him as he liked him.

A genuinely awful situation.
Christ that is depressing. But you'd like to think theres some deals to be had with £25m:
- Iheanacho/Piroe/Che Adams = £12m each
- Elanga = Structured deal like Garner (£5m upfront)/loan to buy/maybe £15m max total fee
- Danjuma = loan (probs £3m loan fee)
- Dembele = free (probs £4m agent fee)
- Adama Traore = free (probs ^similar agent fee)
- Any number of Chelsea/City prospects on loan, e.g Casadei, Lewis Hall, Cole Palmer

Realistically we could get 1 main striker and 1 winger on a reasonable loan/agent fee and still have some money to play with (/spend on wages)

Come on mate. You may not like him, but it is disingenuous to say he knows as much as any other posters. Journalists even get their info from him. Yeah, he won't know everything, but come on!
I honestly can't remember one thing that he posted which had already not been reported elsewhere.
Maybe I am wrong, but for me he is somebody who gets in very quickly with news that has already broken.

no not yet. First shift Gray for like 12-15mil at least. That should be the most easiest one. Then continue to push Gomes, Gbamin, Holgate and Maupay out the door. Holgate / Maupay maybe one of them leave on loan ad hate to say it but for Maupay only let go if we are 100% sure we have a striker coming in.
Gomes / Gbamin any transfer fee we get is a bonus i feel.

….maybe reading too much into it, but perhaps telling that Gomes wasn’t involved in the friendly.

Problem with moving players on is a team needs to want them & they have to agree to leave. I imagine Gomes is already eyeing a lucrative Bosman next summer.

I mean, I'd be devastated if we signed any from that list apart from Danjuma, Dembele or Iheanacho personally- and I don't particularly rate any of them either.

But I take your point! 😆

The funny thing is, I feel like I'm having to defend them on here.

That Benj gets right on my nerves with how much he loves Dyche. Now, I know we all have different opinions on this, so we don't need to rake over old ground, but I've made it clear on here just how much I detest Dyche, so the love in grates. He puts pictures out of Dyche with text like 'Gaffa' and regularly describes him as an unreal manager and a special manager. Makes me sick.

Also had to endure the two of them bigging up Elanga as if he's brilliant (again, I've made my opinions on that known), describing him as an excellent player and a 'proper Dyche type signing' and when you cut through the chaff they are saying that he tries hard and presses well. Don't know about you, but I like my wingers and forwards to contribute towards attacking play myself.

So they do get on my nerves, but they are more than entitled to their opinions. But I come back to the fact that their info, I have found to be good. If they're getting it out slightly before other media, then they must have decent sources, even if they are just beating them to it.

I like the Iheanacho links. His stats don't look brilliant, but when you bare in mind how little he played for Leicester it looks a lot better.

Yeah I’m not on Twitter anymore but they did get a bit annoying lol I think the bobble chap is a journo so probably why he gets things just as they are breaking. They always have a lot of journalists on their pods etc. He’s not a wizard by any means but usually reliable when he has info.

The plus side is he is never injured.

The downside is why he has been sub or not even the squad on so many occasions.

When you also look at the games he does start he rarely finishes 90 minutes.

I dont see him being a "Dyche" sort of player personally.

Maybe the budget of £25m is bollocks?
It would make sense given the inactivity in the market.
