Summer transfer window 2023

Anytime I have seen him I have generally been impressed.
I agree his career has stalled at Watford but that may be a reflection on the club than the player.
I noticed last season Joao Pedro got 11 goals from 35 games as a striker whereas Sarr got 10 from 39 as a winger.

Sarr is an odd one, I would have loved a few seasons ago to have got him when we were constantly linked, he looked like he had all the attributes.

Just not sure if that was where he is in terms of level or if he has an extra gear to push through.

We badly need pace and attacking players, but ones with an output, if I see Gray go on a break and stop and stand on the ball till the opposition defence is in shape again ill cry

Who's upset you this morning mate? Seem very agitated.

I was replying to a comment someone made in which dyche had "apparently" said he's happy to go with what he's got, as he's used to working under such restrictions.

No idea if it's true or not, but IF it is, then that's very worrying don't you think?
It won’t be true, that’s the point

Maupay plus €10-15m
Maupay plus €10m plus €15m more likely.

I was neutral about this summer. Thoughts of “we’ll wait till the turn of the accounting period then do a couple of £15-£25m purchases, they’ll have the deals lined up for the 1st July,” and “Onana will waffle about CL football and go for £55m and Dyche will get a mini war chest”.

But 19 days into our shiny new accounting period and a similar number of days until we actually have real live PL points up for grabs, we are an absolute flaming bag of turd.

If hes who they've identified as their main target in that position, im okay with it taking its time.

Panicking and rushing things is how we end up with Maupay
I agree, due diligence is important, players cost a lot of money. Panicking & rushing is certainly a recipe for disaster.

But Gnonto appears to have been on the radar for quite some time - at least the duration of this transfer window. He was identified at the beginning as a main target & the talk as continued. Yet it drags on endlessly with reports of a deal getting close, next report saying the clubs are far apart. We are linked to just about every two-bit player - the only one to have inked a deal is 38 & no sign of a desperately needed striker.

Our club seems to be riddled with incompetence when it comes to the transfer window - not just in the present but for years.

I don't think it is unique to Everton. All clubs (bar the elite) have challenges buying players early in the season. Most selling clubs will hang on as long as they can to try and attract more interest in the player and thus a higher price. Leeds would be mad to take the first offer for Gnonto as he is clearly a hot prospect and there will be other clubs with him on their list of targets. The vast majority of sales which happen early in the window are elite club purchases or players who are relatively unknown or on a free transfer.

Think you’ll be surprised. Lots of teams potentially looking for a player his profile and age especially with a year of PL experience under his belt.

Chelsea (x2), West Ham, potentially still Arsenal if Partey goes, United if Fred & McTominay go, Liverpool if Henderson and Fabinho go, big big market for his kind of profile.

Still dominoes to fall, and that delay holds us back right now, but I’d expect offers especially if richer clubs know we’re desperate for cash up front.
Can you honestly see him do anything more than warm the bench at Chelsea or Arsenal. As for the kopites they just want Brighton's midfield.
