I like the Iheanacho links. His stats don't look brilliant, but when you bare in mind how little he played for Leicester it looks a lot better.

Average minutes per appearance...

2022-23: 41
2021-22: 49
2020-21: 58
2019-20: 48
2018-19: 31
2017-18: 39

Averaging a goal or assist every....

2022-23: 112 mins
2021-22: 140 mins
2020-21: 104 mins
2019-20: 120 mins
2018-19: 235 mins
2017-18: 138 mins
Why is he averaging such low minutes per appearance though? That seems a sensible question to ask. If, as those stats imply, he is a 1 in 2 striker why is he getting so little game time?

I count it at the absolute bare minimum, as being able to get a game for the top sides in the Championship and be among one of their better players. None of those players do that.
They play regularly for a team in the Premiership. It's sad but it's a fact. Most players in the PL are journeymen but a fair few are a rung below that.

I’ll happily take Cameron Archer, thanks
He is a strange one. I think every Villa fan wants to see him in the first team next season, I am hoping he will be.

However, a possibly interesting Villa player would be Jhon Duran. He is only 19 and we paid close to 15m for him in Jan. He hasn't broken into the team at Villa and his purchase appeared to be sorted out before Emery joined and I don't think he is in Emery's plans. Duran is constantly in the top 10 young talents of South America and is a full senior Columbian international. Villa left for the US today on the pre season tour and Duran was not included in the squad. He is 6'1" tall so a big target man. If he is not in Villa's plans he could be a could loan with an option to buy. He certainly looks like he has a good career ahead of him, I was very surprised when he was not in the pre season squad. If you are looking for 2 strikers he could be a cheap option as one of them

I think partly thats because hes been the understudy to a guy whos been a top 7 scorer in the league every season. I think in most teams that would be a much bigger question, but not being better than Vardy just means he's not top 10 in the league.
