….it’s so good coming into this thread now we’re safe.

As always, I have no interest in aspirational suggestions we’re not linked with. i get that most links are not credible but invariably any transfer starts with one. Link, player profile (position, age, clubs etc) and then video clips is my preference.
Sounds like you're volunteering for daily round ups...

He’s also nearly 29 years of age. That would be a very Steve Walsh 2017 signing. Exactly the type we need to start avoiding, I’m sure we could get some kid from Europe for about £5m who can put a set piece into an area.
Would be Sigurdsson-like in some respects.

Anyway, if West Ham want him they'll have the Rice money and we won't compete with that.

Gbamin's agent giving it socks:

"We will have to find another project for him. I am the one who chose Everton for him because it would have been a stepping stone to move on elsewhere.

"There was interest from Arsenal, Tottenham and even Jurgen Klopp wanted to sign him for Liverpool six months before but now Jean-Philippe wants to go back to Germany."

"It is unbelievable what has happened at Everton," added Collignon. "Jean-Philippe is so disappointed with everything that has happened and how things have not worked out for him.

"The reason he suffered his initial injury was because he was not fit. That is why he got injured. They had to give him time and not rush him back into action.

"The club should have let him play in reserve games to achieve full fitness and also to gain confidence so that he would be ready for the intensity of the Premier League."

How many of those 9 goals were free kicks/pens? Well over half surely? As I said he's a specialist on dead balls but overall yes bog standard.

Wouldn't say he tore us apart like? He just happened to score two against against a dreadful team.

I'd he furious if we spent money on him.

I never understand that point mate - do goals count less when they arent from open play. Also that nine is in a worse Southampton side,, then even us - 10 the year before. You know we're early in the transfer window when we are turning our noses up at that from midfield.

I wasn't even talking about his two goals, he hit numerous defence splitting passes that took our two lines out of it.

I think you are fairly safe mate, i dont think we will spending close to 40 mill on one player, also think he will have more appealing options then us to be honest and realistic.

Been in all the German youth teams as well and looks to have captained u18s, now a current 11 cap u21.

Only thing @Nymzee he was loaned to Schalke with a 3mil obligation and 1.5mil in clauses to be completed if Schalke had stayed up.

That seems a very low figure for someone with his 'credentials'. Any ideas why its so low?

I guess the fee would be similar even though he seems to have been one of Schalke's best players.
Looks decent.

This bit is absolutely spot on. Silva was forced to play him half fit, because our board and DOF left him short, and Morgan Schneiderlin got a brain dead red card against Palace.

Bit late for the agent to pipe up. No big deal in the offing for him to take a cut off. That's the issue here. The gravy train coming to an end.

Even gets the dig in early, calling us a "stepping stone".

You'd think Gbamin hadn't been paid for years reading that.

It's nobody's fault he is made of paper.

wow!! how many millions has 'Jean-Philippe' made from not doing his job. Injuries happen and the club stood by him, paid him a kings ransom and paid for his rehabilitation. It's been a nightmare for all parties. At least have enough dignity to accept that whilst everyone lost in this situation - Gbamin (and you would assume his agent) is the only one that walks away a lot richer.

….I’m sure he can end his ‘nightmare’ if he’s prepared to take a massive cut in wages.

Smiled to myself reading - given we've paid 90% of his contract up.

Not many nibbles for him, when hes been loaned out for the last couple of years.

Hopefully his agent earns his corn this summer - best for everyone.

Don’t you need working legs to use anything as a stepping stone?
