I mean I'm somewhat disappointed to be overlooked by Forest, however any player who seemingly doesn't want to play in our managers style I wouldn't want regardless. So yeah, hope he flops.
I think that is just the media trying to stir the pot. Forests style was even worse than ours

B

But has it given him brain fog for 2 years? It's his decision making that's the problem rather than his athleticism
And that is why I put, wether you liked him or not !!

You wouldn't believe what 'long Covid' does to you..

Anyway, I'm not backing him as a great player, that's just been effected from Covid.

I was simply agreeing how badly it can effect you.

( also we haven't exactly helped the lad, by using him as a 'Dog's body' since he joined.

Elanga to Forest.. Brennan Johnson to…? Would love him here.. dreaming I know but he’d be the answer to our right wing for a good few years imo

If we went into the season with McNeil, Gnonto, Danjuma, Johnson as our attacking midfield / wide options then we'd be well away from danger.

Throw in Gray and Iwobi sales to cover a few years amortization costs.

Its that catch 22 when you're working with a tight budget, do ya spend big on young potential and run the risk of him being a flop, or wait a year or two to see if her continues to put up big numbers but by then he is gonna be attracting attention of clubs with much deeper pockets.
Dont think we are in the financial predicament to take that gamble!

Probably most likely if he was to move soon would be a move to Chelsea then a loan to Strasbourg

Given that we are likely to bring 2-4 players into a squad of 24-25, there is not much these new arrivals will do to turn our club's fortunes around.
Looking at our starting XI last year how many of them would you say were capable of a top half finish?
Pickford - Y
Coleman/Patterson - N
Tarkowski - Y
Keane/Holgate - N
Mykolenko/Godfrey - N
Iwobi - N
Gana - N
Garner - Y
McNeil - Y
Doucoure - Y
DCL/Maupay - N

I didnt include players already gone.
Add any 2-4 players to this and do they keep away from the relegation zone?

Truth is we probably can't afford a Toure or Boniface. Higher targets wouldn't want to come to us. Of the ones mentioned Iheanacho is a decent addition. We aren't very attractive right now.
It's also the importance of getting Nacho and "THE RAT LAD" done early - it'll help us attract the higher profile targets like Messi n dat

It does make sence while we have the mission statement of 'stay in the league until the stadiums built'

The teams selling the likes of these players are praying for a Premier League club like Chelsea/Newcastle even a Bournemouth or Leeds (last season) or someone like that to come in with the £20-25m bids! If the only interest was someone like Villareal or Frankfurt......the fee would be around £8m less. We can't afford to be caught with our pants down (although the alternative of Maupay was a joke)

I do think there is a long list of these type of signings that a lot of them don't work, and the selling clubs just move onto the next in vogue player
