Summer transfer window 2023

This summer transfer window is critical in light of the pending FFP investigation. We should conduct business now to guard against some potential outcomes. A few considerations:

(1) Potential monetary penalties - Spend what we can now on players; if we are assessed a monetary penalty for FFP violations, any player purchases would be that much more challenging financially in the next window.

(2) Potential transfer ban - This would be a tough one for us. We need to ensure we have enough players (including youth) under contract to field a competitive team while the ban is in place. For example, if we are unable to buy players in Jan. or next summer, we had better position ourselves now to withstand that. A number of players are out of contract for us next summer, we must ensure enough players are under contract in the event we are given a transfer ban. Any one year loans would expire, so if we are banned next summer for example, we need enough players under contract through the next season.

(3) Potential points deduction - Of course we try to win as many games as we can, but plan on at least 50 points (not the usual minimum of 40 to stave off relegation) in case we get some type of points deduction imposed on us (10 pts. maybe?). We need to get our business done before Fulham, every game/point is critical.

Good times!
I think a points deduction won’t happen. Don’t think it’s happened in the history of the premier league. It would leave Everton probably presenting accounts to the league from the other clubs and saying, what about these then?

I think Everton will prove they did nothing wrong and that will be that.

Pickford
Patterson
Tarkowski
Branthwaite
Mykolenko
Garner
Onana
McNeil

Those 8 together + 3 new attacking players such as Iheanacho, Gnonto and Damjuma played every game at full fitness is a top half team.

The weakness would then be the bench.

Simms was sold for £3.5mil and potential £1.5mil in clauses + £3mil if they get promotion.

£15mil is insane.
Agreed there is little evidence to suggest he is more than a championship player. Jordan Ibe vibes

There’s no way they’ll give us a points deduction. They’d have to relegate City

Just had a peep at Leicesters forum, Jesus Christ there transfer thread has had about 8-9 posts since Tuesday!
They really need to get upto GOT speed, pages and pages of nothing.

There’s no forum like GOT mate
Not only do we have more fans than most clubs in the country, all our fans are mental and seemingly have nothing else to talk about 🤣

That's just a pretty decent team I agree about the bench.
Benches probably divide a bottom-half team and a top half team and currently our bench is weak. Even with those three it's not great. We currently don't have a great back up goalie. Our left back area is weak, we could probably do with more quality at centre back and midfield.

I'm not his biggest fan, but this narrative is harsh. I don't have a problem with him defensively. He's fine in that regard IMO.

With the ball at his feet, contributing to our attacking play, he's incredibly limited. That isn't going to get dramatically better.

"Rubbish" is harsh IMO

His defensive abilities are overrated, I don’t think they’re very good at all. People are just desperate for him to be good at something.

Is ok defensively agree just very limited as a player. Just cant be like that as a fb noe you have to have an attacking side to your game.
