Summer transfer window 2023

Absolutely. It's been clear for days that this is what is happening. The lad clearly doesn't fancy us, but Atalanta don't have the cash yet to sign him. If we wait it out for an answer we all know will be negative, thus actually giving Atalanta the time to get their money, we really are a sham of a club. Set a 24 hour deadline, if not met move on.

This will be like the Giroud fiasco again if we don't get moving!
We're going to spend the next two weeks not signing Toure, aren't we? I can't believe this is happening again

I'm not interested in this transfer anymore, we need to move on and move on NOW, we simply can't sit on this for what could be another 2 weeks. Please EFC do not get sucked into agent game play and just move on to the next player ffs.
I’ve been broadly on board with Thelwell so far but how he responds when (if) he misses out on his top target will say a lot about him. He SHOULD have been working other options in the background, and know who they are and roughly what it’ll take to get them, so we are ready to move on quickly.

I think it’s fair to say he’s done what he can for EBT and if it doesn’t happen he can’t be blamed. What happens next is what he’ll be judged on.

Thought we had signed a forward in Danjuma? Thats a tick in the forwards signed column as far as Kev and Good times Bill are concerned surely

I’d be looking at decent up and coming strikers from the championship, Piroe for instance. We should’ve got Gykoeres in a swap plus cash deal for Simms, our recruitment team are shocking, I’d rather take a punt on one of the above than spunk £30million plus on Toure.

I guess, I just never understand the "Just walk away" logic.

We clearly feel as tho this player is the 1 we want, it looks like he has no interest in joining us, but it doesnt mean we withdraw our offer like a scorned 12 year old. I get it, we need players, but as I always say, we are trying to sign players for the 38 games this season and potentially the 38 games for the next 3 or 4 years. We arent signing players for August 2023.

And before people say it, a good start is vital, im vastly aware we need players yesterday.

Its also VERY possible to work on 2 deals at the same time.
Not walking away from deals that don't like they are possible, leaves you scrambling around on deadline day in desperation.

We should know exactly what we want to do if this deal for EBT doesn't come off. If it looks unlikely then we should have already moved on. We have 16 days to go and are totally unprepared for meaningful football matches.

For proper clubs. Bill's nearly 80 mate and by all accounts does all our transfer negotiations. He can't spread himself like that mate.

It's a joke really.

As I said, Everton will be more informed than us, only they will know if it theres a chance left.

I personally suspect we have already moved on, but we shall see.

Can you tell the club that please 😂

And I’d rather not just walk away if there’s a chance to get him as he is clearly our first choice. But there also needs to be some pressure on him from us because I’m sick of all the bed wetters in here.

Id say we are constantly missing out on top targets mate. MGW and Onana/Garner last year springs to mind.

I'm prepared to be patient, i think we will see another 3.

Dont think Thelwel has got much wrong bar Maupay personally, in very adverse circumstances.

Most of the what you would assume are genuine links i see - look logical and improve us.
