But does give an opportunity to artificially inflate fees for both and scam FFP. Haven't Barça and the sh'ite been doing that for years?
No opportunity for that, if a swap deal is done both clubs must agree to the valuation of the players and this valuation must be reported.

The Barca scam was their accounting practices in relation to amortisation. A club is meant to do straight-line amoortisation which is the cost of the player divided by the contract. So 100m player, 5 year contract was 100/5, so 20m a year. The idea with amortisation is that the asset has a zero value at the end of the period. Barca were allocating a terminal value to their players. For example, 100m player would be worth 40m after 5 years and they then subtracted the terminal value from the purchase price, so 100m - 40m = 60m and they then calculated amortisation based on the 60m, so 60m/5= 12m. They then recorded a 12m loss a year instead of a 20m loss per year. Derby County also tried this accounting practice but got hammered for it.

No Joey, I don’t want some scumbag woman beater anywhere near this club.

If you’re happy with this absolute vile piece of [Poor language removed] anywhere near this club then your morales are lower than a sewer rat
If he was proved guilty then I agree - no nèd for profanities or name-calling either" if you are happy to be stuck with Maupay then a relegation fight is on the cards again...

when luton put 5 past us at goodison park just remember when you are crying into your soggy weetabix that at least we have a shiny brand new stadium to look forward to, yes we may have andre gomes in goal and tony hibbert has come out of retirement to play as emergency striker, but at least we have a brand new shiny stadium to look forward to

yup

Technically not yet as his contract with Shakhtar is only up in December, but then he's free to sign for other clubs as per the FIFA provisions

ahh interesting, didn't know that was a thing! (we are so desperate for a right sided player)

the usual play of 'ok for big clubs but nobody else' in full effect I see

He scored 26 goals in the premiership for Brighton over 3 seasons.

Richarlison scored 30 over the same period for us.

Brighton constantly play Danny Welbeck who scored less than Maupay when he was there. We'd never want him here if he was offered.

Point being is that certain players suit certain styles. Maupay was never ever the right fit for us. That still doesn't mean he's not PL quality.
He got more chances to score less
Played centrally most of the time
Richy did a lot of tracking back

Though I agree the style doesn't suit him, I think you are comparing two different things there
Brighton fans wanted rid too
If he is PL standard it isn't as a striker
