Everton fans want to take all the credit when there’s any sort of reflective credit to be had yet it’s never their fault when they hamstrung the club, which is often.
I don’t understand your logic on this one, I don’t see the fan base claiming any credit, indeed at Everton Football Club there is very little credit to be claimed. I do accept that some were throwing flowers at themselves for the way they have backed the team on the pitch over the last two seasons but there was nothing reflective in that, they were a credit to the club in the face of very trying times. Again I say the fans did not waste the money, the fans didn’t choose and then sack a series of managers, those that run the club are responsible for running it into the ground.

Strange feeling that Ashley Young might be our dark horse signing this year. Still absolutely bricking it if we don't pad up at the top, and really need someone to knit midfield and attack. Can't believe we're going into a third season, where I'm full of anxiety and sometimes sheer hatred for my beloved club. Just shows how quickly things can change. I just wish the board knew how much their indecisiveness actually hurts us day to day.

Around this time of year I normally reassure people that it’s just a friendly and championship teams are further ahead in their prep etc etc.

But let’s face it, we’re absolutely crap, we’re circling the PL drain, and we’ll be very, very lucky to survive this season.

Club is broken. But at least we’ll be broken in a lovely new stadium

Welcome to the 29th July Everton transfer show…..

I’ve tried to bundle together as many of the transfer rumours flying around, combining them into one bite size and heart burn inducing portion for your dining pleasure.

I make some apology for some of the sources and articles used.

Everton have made a new bid with cash and Neal Maupay included to seal the transfer of Salernitana striker Boulaye Dia, according to Corriere Dello Sport.

The newspaper has reported in its print edition [29 July, pg 21] that the Toffees have placed £15.4million on the table as they look for a new number nine.

Crystal Palace may target Everton winger Demarai Gray or Leeds United star Crysencio Summerville if their pursuit of Flamengo’s Matheus Franca is knocked back, according to the Daily Mirror. The newspaper reported in its print edition (29 July, pg 69) that if Palace receives another rejection from the Brazillian side for the 19-year-old, they may turn their attention to the English sides in their pursuit of a Wilfried Zaha replacement.

Tete has been offered to four clubs, with Everton not included. That’s according to Sportitalia journalist Alfredo Pedulla, who has reported that the forward has offered himself to Al-Ittihad, Fenerbahce and two Italian clubs after he terminated his contract with Shakhtar Donetsk.

Everton’s quest for a striking reinforcement has been one of the most discussed topics this summer. Having evaluated a plethora of options, the Merseysiders are yet to find a resolution. With memories of the previous season where Sean Dyche had to improvise by playing Demarai Gray in a central role due to the lack of striking options, there’s a pressing need for the Toffees to not face a similar predicament again.

From what journalist Dominik Schneider reports, the name now surfacing in the rumour mill is Corinthians’ Yuri Alberto. Aged 22, the Brazilian forward has turned heads with seven goals and an equal number of assists in his 37 appearances this season. Understandably, this performance has piqued the interest of several clubs, with Everton now actively engaged in talks.

Everton have reportedly had a long-term interest in Sheffield United prodigy Daniel Jebbison.

The 19-year-old has been a bit-part player at Bramall Lane but remains a highly-rated prospect, evidenced by his involvement with England at various youth levels in recent years.

He also enjoyed an impressive loan spell at Burton Albion last season, scoring on nine occasions across 23 games before being recalled by his parent club.

West Ham United are reportedly interested in signing winger Demarai Gray from Everton this summer.

According to The Daily Mail, Everton ace Demarai Gray is firmly on the West Ham radar in the summer transfer window, although Besiktas have made the first move to sign him.

Everton, meanwhile, are said to be interested in signing Brazilian attacker Tete this summer. The 23-year-old spent the second half of the 2022-23 campaign on loan at Leicester City from Shakhtar Donetsk, representing the Foxes on 14 occasions, scoring once.

Tete is set to leave Shakhtar this summer, and according to reports, he is wanted by Everton.
