Not defending him here but if there is no cash then he's got to be looking in loans and freebie territory. If he was in charge in the Walsh era and actually had some decent wedge to bring in players it could be totally different. I think blaming him is allowing the board of old and those remaining to get away with their awful running of the club and we can't let those remaining get away with that.
Think this is the strongest I've ever agreed with something you've said Dave lolI'm fast geting to the point where I just wonder what the point is. If we cant hand hope to our own supporters but rather existential fights for survival with increasingly weakened squads then it really might be time to pull the pin on Everton.
THAT is what they've done to us.
…he’s accountable, there are no excuses for not doing your job.
Just read there that it was on this day 9 years ago when the club confirmed that we'd signed Rom on a permanent.
Would love to see him back here, NEA.
He is there for the reason that he is shielding that gap between the fans and dumb and dumber so he is always going to take the flak as the other 2 seem to just hide away these days. He should be the most powerful person at the football club in theory but the various areas of a club that most DoF oversee, he seems to only have partial control on (such as recruitment) because dumb and dumber want to interfere with team affairs when their job should be making the club function as a business. Not defending him here but if there is no cash then he's got to be looking in loans and freebie territory. ....don’t get this at all. A young aspirational striker would jump at the opportunity of joining a PL club. They won’t be put off by DCL, especially looking at his injury record because they know they’ll get game time. They will be eager to be first choice.
Thelwell’s problem is he only tries for strikers who are in demand. These players will look at better options than a struggling Everton.
The club need to be clever and not lazy in identifying talent. Buy hungry young players who will be worth big bucks in the future.
BK and Moshiri won't be there to see them. The protests should never have stopped. Goodison needs to be absolutely full of banners next week against Sporting.
Signing Duncan Ferguson ,Kanchelskis ,Gary Speed (rip) winning the FA Cup . This is far far worse then anytime I can remember in supporting Everton in the 47 years I have . We have a hated chairman and owner who've between them have absolutely ruined our Football Club even when they eventually go ,I fear it's going to take us years to recoverYou weren’t around in 94-99? This isn’t as bad as that
Yet
BK and Moshiri won't be there to see them.
They will still be more than awareBK and Moshiri won't be there to see them.
I remember that well. Whatever else about Walter Smith, he knew how to get deals done. He would have made a better DOF than manager here if they had had them in the day.The summer of 98 we signed Marco Materazzi, Olivier Dacourt and Ibrahim Bakayoko in one week.
The single most exciting moment in Everton transfer history since I started supporting them.
They went on to win Champions Leagues, World Cups, League Titles.
