I'm not staying Raul Jimenez is the answer to our problems but Fulham signed him for £5m..surely we could have been interested for that?
Don't forget that while Fulham were doing that deal we had a 25m ish deal on the table for Toure. Money might be quite tight, and the need for a striker is urgent, but we're clearly trying to do better than shopping in that sort of market.

Looked in far far better physical condition than some of them returning for the medical checks, Iwobi for one. Shed some muscle mass too. As long as he is not factually injured, 60 mins of Dom trying to regain sharpness during matches is still infinitely more effective than 6,000 minutes of Maupay. We simply cannot bin off the early matches again.
Agree with the last part wholeheartedly- though that needs to be addressed with additions also. Which is looking less and less likely

I also don't understand the loan with obligation offers we apparently made in January and last summer, even if one had been accepted we'd have been paying 20-30m this summer given the fees that were mentioned. Where is the money we thought we were going to have?
I suspect as many have said it’s the terms we are offering. So we may offer £25m paid in instalments over say 3 years, the selling club accepts, but the player decides to go elsewhere so it falls through but the next target’s club will not accept the same terms so it’s a non starter. Fee is one thing, cash flow and whether we pay in one go or in instalments is another

So we allegedly wanted 6 players in. We’ve only managed 2 and time is running out. We can’t afford to do what we did last season and basically throw 6 games, signings need to be available for Fulham.

I think they were expecting Elanga to sign and were hopeful that one of Rodrigo or Toure wouldve signed too. Leeds obviously won’t play ball with us so I’m not sure why we’re wasting our time there.

Other targets need moving on, and now. Yes it’s a tough market, yes apparently we don’t have much money, but I don’t believe for a second with the sales we’ve made that we can’t afford to put a half decent downpayment on one player.

You say "mentioned by other clubs", I say a perfectly executed PR spin by a certain B Kenwright.
It’s not really good PR though if the reason we don’t buy anyone (which I am sure there will be more incomings but probably loans) is because either 1) we can’t afford to or 2) we won’t. The first is down to either a lack of funds and/or poor recruitment processes whereas the second would be seen by the footballing public as stupid given the last couple of seasons.

Either way the only conclusion that could be drawn is they codons have a clue what they are doing. I see no PR benefit.
