One down!

Nkounkou has just joined St Etienne on a permanent deal, undisclosed fee.

‘Undisclosed fee’ that is Everton speak for ‘They wouldn't pay cash, but we got 200 benson & hedges, a family sized pack of broken biscuits and a quick nosh off their DoF. Oh and by the way, we have to pay 95% of his wages for the next 5 seasons’

I'm shocked people are still suggesting taking a flyer on Vardy. The man is 36 years old! And 3 goals in 37 last campaign, a massive drop off from prior years. The warning signs are there. I'd take any promising, unproven young striker before Vardy; I'm sure they would manage to bungle in at least 3 goals over the course of a season for far less wages and have far more upside/sell on value. Maybe Rondon is available too. Stop the madness. Can we please look forward, not back.

Paul Mullin (Wrexham) would be brilliant for us. We had him as a youngster and so did Liverpool and we obviously both rightly let him go. He is now 29 and has come to his prime.

The goal is the same size and in the same place whatever league you play in and he knows where it is! He runs the channels and can hit it with both feet. When he isn’t making space for himself and running, running, running he’s in the box and doesn’t shy away from anything with his head. When he hits it, it’s usually 1st time (like Ancelotti taught DCL) and when not running into space he plays between the posts (like Ancelloti taught DCL). He’s not going to get PL football with Wrexham and remember where Vardy came from, for how much and what he did for a couple or three seasons. He is better than Gyokores and is a more all round footballer than Vardy.

Is four new signings really enough? I'd be looking at 6-7 tbh.

Young lads on the fringes but I'd prefer most of them to go on loan as would say Cannon's the only one who you'd back to make a serious impact given how good his finishing was at Preston for 10 game spell.

We know by now that Dyche prefers a settle 11 and even with 5 subs dosen't really make a huge amount of changes (just one sub to see out the game on Sunday) so even if club was cash rich again he probably wouldn't be the right manage to handle 20 senior players.

Just can't get complacent on injuries as all it takes is Tarks to do a hamstring and be out for a month or Gana to pick up an injury and suddenly the first 11 is very short on leadership and experience in key areas.
