Then we settle for the easier deals because we need bodies - why we end up with Iwobi, Maupay etc.

I don't know how we are organised but is sealing the deal for Thelwell or somebody else ? And isn't that where we need the help ?

European football helps but so does club profile and I'm afraid ours is rock bottom atm, due to 2 relegation battles on the trott.

We are 2 days away from the start of the season and rhe only deal we are remotely close to finalising is Cherniti.

It's no good imagining what our team will be like "if" we get Gnonto, Ekitike, Wharton, or De Winter. Just like last season when we thought we were advanced with Kudus, we are simply rubbish at getting any kind if deals over the line.

It's not good enough to say "well at least he's identified the kind of players we want". Between Thelwell, Kenwright and Moshiri they're a complete embarrassment to this club.

Let's hope they do get some of the players in you mentioned as that might give us half a chance of surviving, though there's more chance of us signing the likes of 38 year old whose contracts have run out, or prem proven failed players like Evans or Daka

Agree, some supporters need to stop getting carried away, we will get Chermitti but probably not in time for the Fulham game. I wouldn`t expect Chermitti to play a massive part in this season.

The only others signed is Danjuma (Who I think will have an impact this season) and Young....

The rest is just stories, typical Kenwright stories released to the media to show `Everton are trying` or we was `unlucky` with x, y and z signings.

Come the transfer window closing I fully expect Chermitti, Danjuma and Young to be all we bring in. I don`t know why supporters get sucked in BKs stunts every single year only to be disappointed, it`s been the same for 30 years and isn`t any different now.

It's a grey area here. Kenwright and Moshiri have both been involved in this sort of thing in the past, but so has our DoF (whether that's Brands or Thelwell). Seems to be different depending on which transfer it is and that's probably half the problem

FWIW I have no issue with most of the scouting dept, we appear to have been targeting a lot of good players for the last year or two. The ones you've mentioned there are good examples, but there are others too. The issue is us being awful and much less of a draw than we were a few years ago and also the money situation being much tighter than it was.

Yep. The reality of the situation is we are starting a new season being weaker at centre back and a large chance that Maupay will be our starting centre forward.

Attacking wise it’s a disgrace - with McNeill injured and danjuma not fit our only wide option is Alex Iwobi - who is arguably more suited to the middle. Demarai Gray seems to have decided he isn’t going to train, Tom cannon left in limbo.

Over the last 18 months we have lost richarlison, Gordon,kean,Townsend,simms - can argue till the cows come home of their actual merit to the side but not having any real options in the starting 11 and having absolutely nothing off the bench is ridiculous. Premier league arent we…

The french media always report that players want to go to french clubs. Lens will not pay what we can pay. "Broke English" is still richer than "not broke french".
