Summer transfer window 2023

Chelsea definitely have longstanding interest in Onana. But I imagine they’ll quickly wrap up Adams and Lavia for a combined 70m, which is far better than paying 111m for Caicedo anyway.

If anyone does fancy Onana that Caicedo number has just put the price up by at least 20m.
Personally think our loveable red neighbours have well and truly had their Keck's yanked down at that price. Decent player but £111m!!!!!!!

We just don't generate enough income. Go into a sports shop anywhere in Europe and you'll find the tops six's shirts on racks. Ask for one of ours and it's "what's an Everton"?
true mate but it’s still a bent rule owners of clubs should be able to spend as little or as much as they want

Caceido is a very very good player, he’s young, and they will recoup most of that when they sell, but £111m is wayyyy to much. But Brighton are no pushovers so it’s hardly surprising.

Chermiti will be a big signing for us in terms of negotiating now I think for the rest of the window. Instead of being held to ransom we'll be able to act stronger knowing that we can say "we'll just be giving Chermiti the game time instead", compared to when we were clearly desperate playing without a striker. Ekitike and Gnonto in next along with Chermiti and Danjuma legitimately transforms this side. We were fairly comfortably mid table last year in terms of defending and the midfield, our attack was Championship quality though. This could be a massive few weeks not just in terms of our season but the future of the club too, if we can get some stability under Dyche going into the new stadium then it'll be massive.

The aim should of course be survival this season but I think top half or top 12 should be where Dyche should be pushing us to hit, regardless of where we finish survival is success so it's not make or break but it would be nice to see us try to push on a bit.

it's as bad a deal as McAllister was a good deal.
He (Caicedo) is only 21 and is an outstanding player. He could be in the heart of the RS midfield for 10 years. It could turn out to be a bargain signing. Further, he will have a big market value in 3 years as long as he keeps fit and maintains his standards. Football transfers are going up like everything else in the world. Villa is selling Ramsey to Burnley (a newly promoted team) for 14m + a buyback. That seems mad money for a kid that has never played one minute of PL or any top flight football. Bournemouth just paid 25m for 19 year old Alex Scott from Bristol. If these players can command this type of transfer fee then 100m for a proven quality player doesn't seem too ridiculous

It would be a positive if they really are speeding things up. We need a quick decision, make the player a decent offer and do a selling job but move on if there is anything resembling too much hesitancy. We can't afford it and leave ourselves short. We have to get another forward in. If not him then someone else.
