I wonder if Leeds could at least loan us Gboto with a obligation to buy. They could do something like what Southampton did with Caleta Car when they loaned him out on Lyon. They are like keepers. He will be back in a year when the Saints will get promoted. There should be a clause in Gnoto's contract, that if Leeds don't get promoted, the buy option gets activated ASAP.

Alot of their squad had clauses that they could go on loan if relegated.

Theyve gone so probably Leeds need cash

If United are serious we should be absolutely fleecing them for all those times they’ve absolutely shafted us.

‘Want our 6th choice CB for 30 million? We’ll just wait until the last day of the window, tell you no leaving you absolutely screwed, then let him leave on loan in the next window after not playing him’

As Fergie would say, I wouldn’t sell that lot a virus. Can add Chelsea and Spurs to that list as well of clubs that have taken the proverbial with us for absolutely zero need. It’s not like we’re even competition for them. Quoting us ridiculous sums for fringe players they don’t even need, then even if we agree to pay it they still pull the plug. or buying up a load of players they don’t need in the same position just to screw us (Levy’s favourite trick)

If United ask for Onana just slap 100 mill down as the price then if they agree to pay it tell them we’ll consider it until the last moment in the window then tell them to F off.

we aren’t selling him

Morning mates and welcome to the 12th of August Everton transfer 💩 show…..

Discussions with Alex Iwobi over his Everton future remain ongoing as the 27-year-old enters the final year of his contract. Talks over a new deal for the midfielder were opened in September after he reignited his Blues career under Frank Lampard.

Sean Dyche said negotiations were part of a wider “ongoing process” of dialogue with players and their representatives.

Leeds United have firmly stated that Wilfried Gnonto, who has caught the eye of Everton, will not be leaving Elland Road. This comes after Gnonto’s conspicuous absence from the recent Championship face-off against Birmingham City. Everton’s persistence in securing the Italian international has been met with resistance, with two offers already turned down by Leeds. The week’s events took a turn when Gnonto was informed of the club’s decision to retain him for the upcoming season.

Everton have been joined by two new clubs in the pursuit of Leeds United attacker Wilfried Gnonto this summer, according to 90Min. The English media outlet reported on its website on Friday (11 August) that Napoli and Juventus both want to bring in the Italy international, 19.

Willy Gnonto’s relationship with Leeds United is “completely broken” now and terms are “already agreed” with Everton, according to Fabrizio Romano. The Italian journalist reacted on Twitter Friday night (11 August) after his 19-year-old compatriot at Elland Road was the subject of an official statement from the Whites reiterating their refusal to sell him, and calling his unavailability for the Saturday trip to Birmingham City an “internal disciplinary matter”.

Work at Everton to sign Hugo Ekitike is “taking place without the knowledge, or backing, of everyone” at the club, according to Paul Joyce. The Times journalist reported on the newspaper’s website on 10 August that it appeared to be a sign of the “continuing dysfunction” at the club that not everyone was pulling in the same direction with regards to a move for the PSG striker.

Everton are interested in a “structured deal” for Southampton’s Che Adams amid Premier League competition, according to Mike McGrath. The Telegraph journalist reported via Twitter on Friday (11 August) that Bournemouth have made a £13million offer for the Scotland international, with Nottingham Forest also “long-term admirers”.

Arnaut Danjuma has now shared what Richarlison told him about Everton ‘every single day’ while together at Tottenham Hotspur across the winger’s loan transfer last term.

“He is an Everton fanatic,” Danjuma told the Daily Mail. “I sat next to him and he reminded me every single day, ‘Everton is a beautiful club, you know’. I think it is more beautiful for me to join now and I genuinely mean that.”

Everton are exploring options to sign another attacking outlet, with manager Sean Dyche hoping to reform the club's attacking verve for the 2022/23 Premier League season by urging Director of Football Kevin Thelwell to make good on rumours of interest in Leicester City's Patson Daka, this crucial goal might just be realised.

That's according to journalist Ignazio Genuardi - via Sport Witness - who claimed earlier this week that Everton have compiled a three-man shortlist to complete their attack this month, with Daka joined by Southampton's Che Adams and Paris Saint-Germain starlet Hugo Ekitike.

Middle ground is £80.5mil between Lavia and Caicedo.

After the 20% profit clause we take around £71mil. After transfer fees FFP related profit would be £44.6mil on the books.

However, thats where he is today...he may reach the Rice/Caicedo level in a season. So you price closer to that level.

I dont believe United will be spending that kind of money on anyone this summer.

That would be an expensive loan fee.

It makes more fiscal sense to sell at 80, invest the 40m profit on 2 Onana level players with the hope that one repeats the profit margins. Because for Onana to double that profit margin of £40m for us he would need to go for £125m where is absolute ceiling I would suggest is £110m… and that just takes one of the two profit purchases to come good.

If it’s two…

We have allowed ourselves to be naive and vulnerable to those types of scenarios which is completely on us.

Maybe that’s an option. There is no immediate way back for him at Leeds in light of their statement yesterday, so a small loan fee on a try before you buy basis. Our best season in the last 20 or so years come when we were known as everloan.

Loads of Onana type players out there IMO… just have to take the profits and make a few educated guesses

If it’s two…

You'd take £40mil or so profit (after paying off all the fees owed to Lille + their 20% clause) and use that on 2 × £20mil players as replacements?

The amount we had budgeted to pay off Lille over the rest of his contract may also open up.
