Summer transfer window 2023

I can only imagine, what has happened with Caicedo and seemingly Paqueta has added more value to him. I think 100m may be feasible, and frankly the club can't turn that down.

I suspect that he plan mate, i think we could have a lot of eggs in his value plan next summer, when you look at our contract situations we need a big investment in 12 months time.

If United are serious we should be absolutely fleecing them for all those times they’ve absolutely shafted us.

‘Want our 6th choice CB for 30 million? We’ll just wait until the last day of the window, tell you no leaving you absolutely screwed, then let him leave on loan in the next window after not playing him’

As Fergie would say, I wouldn’t sell that lot a virus. Can add Chelsea and Spurs to that list as well of clubs that have taken the proverbial with us for absolutely zero need. It’s not like we’re even competition for them. Quoting us ridiculous sums for fringe players they don’t even need, then even if we agree to pay it they still pull the plug. or buying up a load of players they don’t need in the same position just to screw us (Levy’s favourite trick)

If United ask for Onana just slap 100 mill down as the price then if they agree to pay it tell them we’ll consider it until the last moment in the window then tell them to F off.

Clubs do fleece each other, it's part of the game.

But honestly a number of these top 6/7 teams seem to have lost the plot recently. If we got over 80m for Onana it would be fantastic. I think your strategy is correct, namely charge 100m and they may pay it.

Caicedo is never a 115m player.

Hmmm.

For starters has that guy ever got anything right? Might have been the first to call our Kudus approach tbf, but I can't remember.

Also, I'm not convinced by Beto. Yes, he is way better than Adams but he isn't great. He is never going to be more than an 8 to 10 goal a season striker in the PL, whereas if we sign younger, more talented players they might exceed it. He is like a foreign and more skilled version of the likes of Wood and Ashley Barnes who will facilitate the way Dyche wants to play, but we would be left with no variation in our forward players then. We'd just have 3 big lads in DCL, Chermitti and Beto.

Given his age, the fact he's not great (he's okay) and our lack of money, the obligation is really worrying. An option would be much better.
Yeah but could all play with danjuma give us a target man as cf. also they all look to have abit of pace in them. Club will still be looking for a wide player and looks like could be from gnonto or the lad at southampton, so feel a cf who is mobile height strong hold up play would be best for us

It makes more fiscal sense to sell at 80, invest the 40m profit on 2 Onana level players with the hope that one repeats the profit margins. Because for Onana to double that profit margin of £40m for us he would need to go for £125m where is absolute ceiling I would suggest is £110m… and that just takes one of the two profit purchases to come good.

If it’s two…

We have to pay 25% of any profit to his old club I think.

If we sold him for 80m his old club would be due 11m … add that to the 35 we paid and they would have made 46m from him…. Which is more than we would have lol

Beto is capable as a link up guy and netting 21 in 61 for a mid table outfit like Udinese is not to be sniffed at by a team with Neal Maupay likely to start today. He is a pure CF, just 25 and can be a potential mentor for Chermiti, who is the guy we have bought for the future. IF he joined we would obviously need Gnonto or similar to enhance our wide options but I think it makes more sense than another youngster like Ekitike or a lesser PL player like Adams.

Nobody in the world right now is worth that outside of halland and mbappe

You’re not going to go too far wrong with big, strong and quick though. And only 25 so still plenty he can add to his game and potentially be more than 8-10 goals in a perfect system.

Depends on the price of course but he’s always been one who ticks the most boxes.

Sounds encouraging!

Oh without doubt, selling young players for big money is a good ploy, and lets face it he is very sellable. I think the club and the market probably felt to get to a say £70m valuation they needed another consistent year from him. I do wonder if the madness of this summer, and particularly the last few weeks has blown that open though, and they feel their could be a big offer coming. I don't think we would ever be in the position to turn it down, but we certainly aren't currently.

United have just paid 75m for a striker who scored 9 goals last season. It's just crazy season, and probably why the club is sensible targetting other young players who they could slip.

The thing with Onana is as well, like if he went, we are not desparate for a replacement either. Garner, Gana could play in there, Doucoure could drop back and you could shift Iwobi inside. So you have 4 options for 2 positions. At a push Godfrey could fill in. I'm not saying we don't sign anyone, but we are probably best covered for that position.
