Yes his job is difficult, but it's difficult for 95% of people who work in player recruitment. The fact it's not an easy job is not an excuse and he's judged on results.
It's the second year in a row he's left his manager to start a season with diabolical forward options. It's totally unacceptable, and will more than likely end up with the inevitable sacking of yet another manager. How can he watch that shambolic performance in front of goal today and think he has done a good job.
We need BK, FM and KT all to go so we can get some meaningful change at this club, and then move forward.
