One thing is for sure, before we go chucking silly money at Gnonto, we need to get a centre forward in who is ready to play every week. Then and only then, can we think about what we do with any money left over. As much as I rate Gnonto, he is a luxury in comparison to us signing a competent experienced centre forward who can immediately be a first choice.

I really can't understand how this problem has not yet been addressed in any constructive fashion.
I think the Gnonto thing might be on though, some guy posted a selfie yesterday of him with Gnonto in Harrogate and he asked him about Everton and Gnonto smiled and got all embarrassed and was like 'I can't talk' so we will see.

Saw that, Two lids were in the box in Kev yesterday and apparently asked him what the craic was with Gnoto and he said he was "working on it" - straw clutching maybe - but they posted a pic with him at the game.

The comments from the manager were not clear, and not easy to understand. Why not say on Thursday he is unavailable instead of being constantly vague with supporters. Transparency is something that we don't see to get at this club.

There is a difference between competitive and non-competitive minutes but pre-season is still useful. And you need to play in league games to get match fitness so it has to happen at some point.

I've had plenty of hamstring injuries but it's not relevant because I'm not a professional athlete and just came back playing again when I felt ok. It's not similar to how you deal with an injury in professional sport.

Again.... this is a RECRUITMENT issue. The lack of forward signings is absolutely pathetic and I want to see accountability where people are replaced for failing to back the manager.
FWIW the managers last comments on him was that the season came a little too early.

It was Dom who then declared himself fit iirc.

I'm not saying the club won't prioritise the Gnonto signing over solving the centre forward problem, nothing this club does surprises me any more. What I am saying is, centre forward is our priority as it has been for the past 3 windows, we spent a decent chunk of money last summer and while I think, with the exception of Maupay, most of them were reasonably good signings, the point I am making is that a centre forward should have been brought in before any of those signings. Only after signing a functional starting centre forward should we have began to spend on other positions.

It was the lack of a centre forward that nearly relegated us last season, failure to get a centre forward will probably relegate us this season.

Spot on we need a no 9 who can hold the ball up & score, I dont see the little winger from Leeds doing that .....

We have tried for a few this summer (Bonniface, Brobbey, EBT) at the end of the day we can't force players to sign for us nor can force clubs to accept our measly payment structures. We have Chermiti (who yes is young) but we are going to have to work with him and it looks like we might be back in for Beto. We could bring someone in and there is no guarantee that person is going to hit the ground running whatsoever.
