Summer transfer window 2023

At the risk of being 'one' of those guys, if we were to get Harrison, Gnonto and Beto, a squad like this would easily keep us up.

Goalkeepers:
Pickford
Virginia

Defenders
LB: Young, Mykolenko
CB: Tarkowski, Godfrey
CB: Branthwaite, Keane
RB: Patterson, Coleman

Midfielders
CM: Onana, Garner, Gana
ACM: Doucoure, Iwobi, Dele

Forwards:
LW: McNeil, Gnonto, Dobbin
RW: Danjuma, Harrison
CF: DCL, Beto, Chermitti

That is a squad of 24.

It would allow Holgate, Gomes, Gbamin, Gray and Maupay to leave permanently. Would also allow for Cannon to go and potentially Dobbin on loan as well.

In the absolute best case scenario, one of Godfrey or Keane go out and we get another experienced CB.

Overly optimisic, but there is a pathway and would allow us to use future windows to improve the foundations of the squad as opposed to being so focused on clearing out high wage dross.
Future windows will be used to fill the desperate gaps that next summer will leave with that squad. With 8 players to leave (possibly 9 if gnonto was to come in on loan).

Gomes will be gone before the window ends on a loan somewhere again. Same for Holgate and gray.

Dele won’t be playing for us this year - can’t afford it even if there was any chance he’d get back to his old levels. Hopefully a good loan for him.

Sign. A. Striker. It’s obvious we aren’t going to be spending big there again, but we need somebody who will get us 7/8 goals as a minimum, can stay fit, can be a presence and be a focal point.

Get gnonto done and if there’s any wiggle room get a competent centre back on loan (I still wouldn’t be overly surprised if Johnny evans ends up here on a free…)

Evans is at MUFC

If Holgate leaves Evans makes a lot of sense on a one year deal. He's had a preseason at a top club so will be in good fitness, and covers the experience hole left by Coady and Mina.

So all efforts on that striker PLEASSSSE !! . Would stil want Gnonto, but with Harrison in at least longer term we have more strength in dept in the wide areas.

Doesn't mean much coming from Fraz - he copies and pastes Ornsteins tweets and uses 'Its Go Time' like a B-Tech Fabrizio to announce transfers. Also it's a bit weird he's disagreeing with his own employers.

I personally don't think we're in for Beto but Fraser is just playing the odds
He’s been better this window & doesn’t just copy am sure he broke gnonto & sulemana links first
Am not really bothered 😕 weather the true I just like the news 📰 😂 ideally I’d prefer to sign them but where Everton, which means unlikely 😝
