He scored 12 goals in L1 last year when they played him mainly at CF in a poor, relegation doomed team but other than that he has a spotty track record at the position (20/21 7 goals, some games at CF). Fair enough if he was 21 and only just found his position. Less so at 27.

Just the sour and cliche ridden words of a tired hack who - like many of his ilk - find Everton's presence an irritant in the sooper dooper PL that they parasitically gain a wage from covering.

I was only going by that statement tho, which could embarrassingly shame them, more the any of us could do.

I can understand him but getting a game at spurs, with Kane, Son, Richarlison, Kuvalevski and Perisic in front of him.

Here he is competing with Maupay, Iwobi, a seriously knackered DCL.

No other top flight club would have made the signings we made

A 38 year old short term fix at full back (not necessarily a bad signing)
A 19 year forward deemed not even deemed ready for the bench by the manager
A wide player who will miss several games through injury
A wide player who rejected us 8 months ago and is not deemed fit enough to start by the manager

All while we desperately needed a couple of goalscorers.

It makes no sense. It's not good enough, and we only have 11 days to fix it.

He was an injury doubt last weekend, when he is fit to start he will probably start.
