1: Why cant the next keeper be as good or better than Pickford?

2: Why cant selling Pickford and signing a replacement and a goalscorer affect the team more than keeping him?

3: How much can we sell Coleman for? Hes 34 and was fine last season but wasnt for 3 or 4 years prior. When Pickford starts losing his reflex speed people will want a new keeper, but what if he stays until retirement?

Hes a top keeper. But long term hes going to drop performance level and value.

You should ALWAYS sell players in their prime at top whack unless youre a top 4 team.

If its a choice between selling pickford or onana it's a no brainer. Onana may well increase in value next season, pickford will absolutely decrease in value. Everton need to start making smart business decisions, turning down a big offer for pickford and having him retire and get nothing would be a mistake.
If the right offer comes in for both then sell both on our terms as neither currently seems to want to leave.

It’s never as black and white as that though, if you’re praising every save , are you going to blame him for every one that goes past him. Remember the league fake at Bournemouth, where he throws an easy catch straight to a Bournemouth player for a tap in.

He’s a very good keeper, If he was average we go down, if he was world class we’re probably safe 5/6 games to go.

At 29 and the financial position we’re in, I’d have no hesitation in selling, if obviously the fee is right.

We paid 35m last Summer for 2 replacements for Baines and Coleman.

Neither are even close to the level they were/are.

Im not saying dont sell Pickford, if he wants to leave and somebody offers us a price we cant refuse, then sure.

But 50m is fantasy land.

Onana on the other hand, we might be able to get somebody to blow 45m max on him.

Im just looking at:

Doucoure ACM and Iwobi RW.

My thinking would be that (on loan only) Weghorst could compete with Doucoure for the ACM position.

If true, that would enable us to sell Iwobi and put his fee (+ Keane, Holgate, Maupay) towards a new right winger and a centre forward.

Then in 12months time (with the new stadium helping our books) we would lose Doucoure at the end of his contract and Weghorst at the end of his loan.

Meaning all efforts focused on that position (aside from backups).

Sensible.

Weghorst is an utterly horrific footballer as demonstrated by his woeful record for United. At 30, go absolutely nowhere near him.
