To be honest… onana getting shifted on for that amount was the end game. The fact we might have managed to do that without him actually proving to be a match winner, or even a man of the match player would be even better.
The next team to sign him is still signing “potential”
Got to wonder if Dyche values Onana enough to resist any bid if it means he can reshape the team with the money.

If we can sell Onana after one year for that and get 2 or 3 more hot prospects (maybe one earlier in the timeline for cheaper). Then maybe hope for more of the same at the end of next year.
Surely that is the way to go? Even if we were more financially comfortable, having a club that runs itself in a way fans can be proud of is all I want.

Why do i need inside info? I dont believe the hype from what ive seen of Onana. You obviously do because every time ive criticised him on here you have spat your dummy out. Its normally just a middle finger response so its nice to see an attempt at a sensible response this time. Amyway i stand corrected as if the worlds media are claiming IT? then i must be wrong. I will now sit back and await the announcement of the big money sale of Onana.

Maybe no one pays 70m plus this summer, and if so we don’t sell, simple. If you’re investing 30m plus in a youngster the minimum you want is to double your money.
I think someone might pay it, although there are a lot of midfielders on the market. But he’s got the physicality and ability to be a top defensive midfielder, he’s getting regular caps for a major international team at 21, he’s got a year of PL experience under his belt, he has the personality and character of a star, and all of that is what top teams are looking for.
We’ve also seen that once these teams decide on a target they will do what it takes to get them, their egos won’t let them fail. So set a 70m plus price and don’t take a penny less.

Tilling
Player Valuation: £6m
He's played a few games in continental competitions in past years which helps big time on the work permit front - few games for Midtjylland in the Europa League (see the opening goal here, corker!) and a few games in the Libertadores for Nacional (according to Transfrmrkt, no idea how accurate it is). Got no idea if he's any good like, but with him being called up for Uruguay now as well, he probably will get a work permit

If someone wants us to double our money after a year and let the same guy who made the decision on Onana have 2 cracks at it (maybe an Onana replacement and a rapid winger) and still have some change left over, I would not complain.
Probably a couple of loans for strikers and some full back cover.
A back up keeper.
Maybe a couple of new midfielders if we move Onana on for a decent fee.
Same at the back if we can get any money for Keane and Holgate.

I hope you are right and im wrong. I hope someone does give us 70 mil for a player who for me is all hype and very little substance on the pitch. If we keep him and he goes on to be great for us for a year then that would be great too. If that happens i will be the first to hold my hands up and say i misjudged him. However im more a fan of players doing it consistently on the pitch for us before i start saying hes this and that and worth X amount. We will see.

You wrote a statement as if it was a fact. So the logical response to that is to ask where the info is from -- now youre admitting that it was solely your opinion.
No idea on emojis or spitting my dummy out as you say i dont remember your posts....i simply think people who dont rate Onana are either; stupid and dont have any clue about football, dont understand statistical analysis or dont support Everton.
Its quite frankly disturbing to see him play and read negative opinions on him.
Brighton apparently want £75mil now for Caicedo while Onana has superior stats.
I could swallow that if Thelwell used it on 2 new top notch u23 players.

If any Everton player is being hyped in the media theres a reason for it.
Well the rumours must come from somewhere.... even if we dont take the player Everton maybe sounding the lad or his current club out. I reckon there is more truth in this sort of gossip than people think, loads of players must get tapped up during the silly season but only a handful will get over the line.
The sort of players we get associated with like Weghourst and also the actual ones that we will eventually sign on deadline day reflect where we are as a club.

Exactly. Buy a young talent, double your money, buy two, rinse repeat is the way to go.
The fact there are a few rumours can be taken as a positve sign that at least some work is being done before 5 to midnight....even though we all know how it will eventually go.
