Striker, winger, centre back minimum
We will have the added problem that the media will spin the Gnonto situation and him returning to training, as him deciding against a move to Everton given the current situation. There will be articles galore on toxic fanbase, relegation cycle etc and it will make it even harder to convince a player to come.

Both Sulemana and Ouattara supposedly swerved talks with us in January as they were concerned about the situation and fans confronting players etc.

To have lost this pursuit will be very damaging beyond missing out on a key target.

The best thing about this whole F'up is that we have signed a 38 year old full back, two decent wingers on loan (but with the wrong age profile) and a raw kid. The balance of the squad in terms of quality, age and positions is absolutely horrible. Saying nothing of the fact we have yet another crap manager.

We are obviously about to panic buy Adams, I can't wait to see which winger we now go after. Because it won't be Sulemana, Bakayoko or any young player of quality; it will be another 💩💩 journeyman at the wrong age.

This whole farce is Kenwright's MO. He leaves deals late either because it allows for the late collapse when he never had any intention of following the deal through, or because he mistakenly believes that it (a) forces the selling club into a corner, and (b) allows the TV money to land. He varies between these two outcomes depending on whether he needs a phantom bid or not. But it shows how old-fashioned and how unfit for purpose he is.

It is beyond a shambles and one we could all see coming.
Why exactly won’t it?
