They are 100% trying to drag this out til deadline day to make it look like they’ve been working around the clock right up to the very last second.
I have no doubt they are working hard to sign players, but our budget seems miniscule and we are not a club that attracts players at the moment.

There must be talent available however throughout the world of football that would be glad to come to the premiership and this seems to be something we are particularly poor at.

I’m not prepared to accept any of those excuses, sorry. We’ve had nearly 3 months to sort deals out, and Thelwell has had 18 months to find players.

And you actually believe that in 18 months, a world of footballers at your disposal, the best he could find was Neal Maupay and Che Adams

Really?

'Everton lack creativity'

I don't see enough creativity in Everton's team. I look at their midfielder, with Idrissa Gueye, Amadou Onana and Abdoulaye Doucoure. I don't see goals or creativity there; that is a big problem.

Yes Ledley.

….there’s plenty of decent footballers on this planet that would welcome the opportunity to join Everton.

The planets a big place, with a lot of players, only the elite .1% probably meet the quality to improve a side in this league and for those who are, they are in demand - there is more attractive and better gigs then here.

There is clearly an issue with players who fall into that bracket and even players who could develop into it wanting to come here, our profile is a skip fire - we have very little to offer bar tradition.

Lampard for all his failings was a draw last summer that probably quenched our skip fire profile a bit.

Playing in the Premier League on its own makes us more attractive to players around the world than the vast, vast majority of other clubs. It’s a complete nonsense excuse. A young talent from France or Holland wouldn’t turn down a move to Everton because a scally in a Montirex tracky shouted at Gordon in his car in January. Players want to play in the Premier League, they want PL wages and they want PL exposure.

Lads like El Bilal Toure and Ekitike, beating their way to play in the PL and to get smashed 4-0 live on Sky Sportz. lol

Meanwhile in an alternate reality, Best League in the Worldz! lol

Morning all and welcome to the 23rd of August Everton transfer round up.

Everton have ruled themselves out of a move for Chelsea's England winger Callum Hudson-Odoi, 22, but the Toffees remain in talks with Southampton over a deal for 27-year-old Scotland striker Che Adams. (Liverpool Echo)

However

Everton are looking to add more attacking quality to the squad during this summer transfer window and reports suggest that they are now in the race to sign Callum Hudson-Odoi. You can see their need for better strikers or wingers and now a report from The Evening Standard has suggested that they have now ‘entered the race’ to sign Hudson-Odoi.

AC Milan are now in talks with Hugo Ekitike. That’s according to Gianluca Di Marzio, who reports that the Italian giants are the latest club to join the race to sign the Paris Saint-Germain youngster. The Toffees had reportedly already made an offer to PSG to snap up the Frenchman, however they failed with their bid as the club were hoping for a more significant buy option at the end of his loan deal.

Wilfried Gnonto has returned to first-team training. Leeds United are now looking to reintegrate the Italian winger back into Daniel Farke’s plans after he handed in a transfer request, BBC Sport reports. Everton’s most recent bid reached £25 million but was turned down by the Yorkshire outfit, while they were expected to make an improved offer for the Italy international. However, it looks increasingly likely that Gnonto’s pursuit of a move will be unsuccessful and the Toffees may have to move on as they look to bolster their attack.

FC Porto winger Goncalo Borges at the centre of recent links to a move to Everton. That's according to Portuguese outlet A Bola, who claim that Porto are acceptant of Borges' likely departure this month, with Everton joined in their interest by West Ham United.

After deciding to sell Ellis Simms to Coventry last month, the Blues are in need of reinforcements, and the Patsen Daka has been linked as a potential target alongside Southampton's Che Adams. However, the Merseysiders are said to face competition with French outfit AS Monaco for his signature. L'Equipe report that Daka is said to be keen on a move to Monaco, but no agreement has been made, which is a boost to Everton's chances. Football Insider claim that 'Les Rouge et Blanc' have turned their full attention to the Zambian, after talks with Arsenal's Folarin Balogun collapsed.

Everton have now made a move for Tottenham Hotspur defender Japhet Tanganga, but they will have to do battle for his signature with another Premier League club, a new report has revealed. As reported by journalist Rudy Galetti, the Toffees are now focusing on bringing in a new "offensive player", so a new defender may not be considered a priority for Sean Dyche, but the manager does have a couple of centre-back targets in mind.

According to ‘respected’ journalist Alan Myers, Everton are considering a move for Bissau-Guinean striker Mama Balde, though he did stress that the interest is currently not advanced.
