The hierarchy at the club must realise that leaving us with this squad is basically accepting relegation. I do think Danjuma and Harrison will make a difference but we're still well short in some areas. Can't believe how grim this start to the season has been. Killed the fans positivity off already. What a state.

Are we getting a half decent loan fee do we think…

Absolutely pee-take if we’re not considering Southampton have made about £100m this
Southampton have been forced to sell their best players and are are trying to restructure their pay scale back to championship wages. There is nothing positive for them in what they have been forced to do.

At ghe same time they need experienced players to give them a chance of promotion and Holgate already has experience of Premiership and championship football.

I would guess that Southampton are paying a sizeable portion of the wages for Holgate and I think we will see Southampton set up some more similar deals to give them a shot at promotion but at the same time no long term commitment for players they cannot afford.

If Holgate does well in the championship it may give us a chance of a fee in twelve months time.

Who said Southampton want 18m? The ever reliable Sky Sports because I certainly didn't.

Everton bid 15m - what they haven't agreed on is the structure of the transfer which is exactly what I said. It's all out there if you go and have a look, Mike McGrath, Jonathan Percy all confirmed it.

Does the structure of the deal now include Holgate going there on loan with no obligation to buy and we split paying his wages as well ? What a club. lol

I honestly believe FFP isn't our problem atm, we haven't spent for a few years now, we have released a couple of big earners, brought in money from sales. Even the players brought in are structured to be paid over many years. the truth is Usmanov is no longer bank rolling Moshiri, and Moshiri is unwilling to use his own money. Hopefully we build the stadium, Moshiri sells to the highest bidder and we can start again as a club.

It's grim but I'm hoping we have just enough to stay up. What's odd is that the bottom five after just two games looks like it could be the bottom five at the end of the season. Next two matches are crucial. Four points essential

If we’re that skint get rid of onana and get in the striker and cb we need. Seems to be the only way, instead of wasting everyone’s time with deals and payment structures that nobody will ever go for.
I think Onana is an important player for us in terms of legs in midfield, closing down space, transition (occasionally), and if we lose him this late in the window we will suffer badly from the hole he leaves.

Overrated and no one will pay decent money on what they have seen so far. If anyone wanted him they’d bid, like Gordon and Richarlison they’d know we have to sell.
