Obviously striker and a proper richie replacement is essential but we need a starting left back as mykolenko isn't it

I think his point is that the side needs goals.
I fully understand but when we played with our only CF (DCL) in the last few games he didnt score much but he did help others score and we looked a different team with a focus. I think Weghorst to be the same type. Not advocating for him as I think he is too old and thats not the model we should be following.

I get what you mean mate, you wont find another person who just LOVES the big number 9 who does the headings.

Im not a fan of the fella, but he would be "cheap" and hes not totally without his merits, but we really need players who can put the round thing in the net.

I have lost count already of suggested names being bandied around on here. It may be 14 or 15. Let's have a vote for our top 3 choice.Should be entertaining. Send the result to Bill presuming he is still active.

That’s exactly what we need someone who scores and converts our chances into goals. So many good balls went into dangerous areas this season and no one there. We need a full on forward not a false 9 a proper goal scorer

Oh my mistake, yeah they only won 3 trophies those 2 seasons followed by the league the following year.

And FYI, they didn’t play remotely like one another. Yes they both played 442 but not under any ounce of imagination did they approach the game the same.

And it had nothing to do with players, it was application of tactics as to why they were a million miles apart

Zat really out there comparing Ath Madrid to Burnley.

Diego Simeone to Sean Dyche, LOL.

Of course they had similarities

Also, again 2011-2013 was not "Prime Atleti" and no amount of googling will change that..

Both had a 442 system (switching to 433 sometimes), similar defensive structure and midfield setup and both played on the counter using direct play.

Im not sure where ive compared Dyche favourably to Simeone...

Everton will probably look like something in between.

We will need a back up goalie with Begovic going.
Looks like we will have at least 4 CB's next year even with Coady and Mina gone, as long as Branthwaite comes back.
Fullbacks we looked threadbare at the end certainly - anyone coming from the U21's?
Midfield sounds like we have a couple of youngsters coming through but likely need 1 more especially if Onana does one.
Wide players - both Iwobi and MCneil are solid but what is plan B? both for injury cover and so as too have something of the bench? Is Mills a fit?
Primary striker - we need another DCL - Beto?
Secondary striker - needs another Richie to offer a different approach to the Doucoure method.

That's 4-5 signings which is probably a bit much to ask - I could see 3 dependant on the funding and timing of any additional investment.

Im not sure why you are assuming Dyche will favour 442.

I think he saw last season that we dont have the midfielders who can fit into a midfield 2.

We certainly dont have the Strikers.

He used a lot of formations last season and I think he will next season, maybe if he had 3 or 4 windows to buy the players, but only Pep can get away with playing the same formation every week in this league.

Regards the Ath Madrid and Burnley comparison, it hurts my head to even consider it, so im out of that.
