Iwobi is an enigma in himself.

A winger not good enough for Arsenal, not fast enough, not skilful enough and not clinical enough, also struggles to cross a ball.

Turned into more of a central midfielder under Lampard where he made a habit of getting the ball, running sidewards and then not being able to pick a pass toward. To me, he never looks tired, never looks out of breath or sweaty, it’s simply someone who doesn’t work hard enough and is happy with their 75k a week and posing with his luxurious lifestyle on Instagram.

Last 12 months of his contract and he cost 28/30m. If we could say get half back, rather then 0 then I would take it.

did more running mate than many others, mainly under Lampard. So compared to the likes of Gray / Gordon (in his 2nd season) that is very unfair on Iwobi.
i think on the ball he is quite decent and was our most creative player in the last 1 - 1,5 seasons.
the problem with Iwobi comes when he sees sight of the goal: crosses are not good, hardly scores etc. For me Lampard saw it correctly: he is at his best in a more central midfield role. But again from those players you expect goals which he does not provide.

good player to have in your squad, but any decent offer and a replacement lined up and he can go for me.

Said it before, but Alex Iwobi is a curse over this club.

Before he joined we finished 8th, since he joined he has poisoned the club from the inside, he makes all the other players wibble around the pitch and we finish 17th.

We can not grow whilst he is at this club.

I have a feeling he will do well at Fulham. It's more about who manages him really and Silva is probably the ideal manager. Whatever, despite the head-shaking moments, I've always liked Iwobi and feel sorry for him that it's not worked out for him here. Good luck to him if he signs for Fulham but we all know what'll happen when we go to Craven Cottage.

There is not a chance we replace Iwobi if we sell him this late. We haven’t replaced Gray and we have been trying to sell him for two months. How do you all feel about seeing more Andre Gomes In CM and/or Garner at RM until Harrison, and eventually McNeil, get fit? That is the reality, not the fantasy that we sell Iwobi and immediately replace him with a magical 8/10 (ideally one who can also play RM, RWB and LM if injuries/form require).

It'll be difficult to show exact cause and effect but it will definitely be a contributing factor.

I know things were chaotic team wise when silva got iwobi , so I agree with the current setup which seems more balanced over there, iwobi could be decent especially if he's not being relied on as the sole creative outlet

It’s probably because 100% of the time it results in absolutely nothing.
