Good morning friends and welcome to the 29th of August transfer round up.

Everton are now set to finalise a deal for Beto. According to The Times, the striker will complete his move to Goodison Park very soon after the two clubs agreed an initial £26 million fee for his signature.

Borussia Monchengladbach would be happy to sell reputed Everton target Nico Elvedi for as little as £4.3million (€5m), according to Bild. Transfer expert Gianluca Di Marzio reported on Sunday [27 August] that Everton had opened talks with Gladbach over a move for the defender.

West Ham United striker Danny Ings is ready to fight for his place despite receiving an approach from Premier League rivals Everton. That is according to The Times, who claim that Everton did ask about a potential deal to sign Ings this week.

Fulham are eyeing a late move for Everton midfielder Alex Iwobi as he could be surplus to requirements at Goodison Park, according to The Daily Mail. The newspaper reported on its website on 29 August that the Cottagers are targeting the Nigerian international as they look to improve their attacking options following the sale of Aleksandar Mitrovic to Saudi side Al-Hilal for £46million.

The new board of Al Shabab is set to decide on whether or not to sign Everton forward Demarai Gray, according to Fabrizio Romano. The Italian journalist tweeted on 29 August that a deal was almost done between the Toffees and the Saudi club before the shake-up in management put the Jamaican international’s move in doubt.

Everton have had a loan bid rejected for Harry Maguire. According to journalist Alan Nixon, Manchester United have turned down an offer for Maguire and are still eager to offload him permanently.

Everton will reassess the situation of Sunderland and Stoke City target Tom Cannon once Beto completes his move to the club from Udinese, according to the Liverpool Echo.

Southampton boss Russell Martin admits Scotland striker Che Adams' head has been scrambled by transfer speculation surrounding his future. The £12million-rated frontman has attracted interest from several Premier League suitors, including Everton, Fulham and Crystal Palace, but remains at St Mary's for the time being. Adams was left out of Saints' 2-1 win over QPR in the Championship at the weekend as Martin admitted the 27-year-old had been affected by the uncertainty.
Thanks mate come in here to see something like this not Iwobi chat might have to start reporting for being off topic 😂😂.

…it’s my point about the game not mattering a lot to him. I’m sure he loves his life, but losing football matches is probably not a great concern.

He’s a talent and he’s a fine athlete but he lacks the application to turn that into goals and assists. It would not take much to find somebody more effective.
We won't be able to find anybody more effective in the time we have left, I don't think. Played centrally and with a coaching staff capable of working on his composure then Iwobi could be a really valuable asset this season. Neither of those things seem possible, though

Selling Iwobi also probably allows us to get some kid in to keep @Zatara happy.

He's 27/28 mate, no amount of coaching is going to help his decision making/composure at this stage of his career.

The real poison is reserved for our own, isn't it ?

Iwobi would be more useful in a team that plays for possession - he's also had very little to aim at up front anyway.

Given our financial situation we shouldn't let him go on a free.

Disagree think we could do better McAtee, smith rowe both could be taken on loan. With the money for him and gray club could even buy a winger and attacking mid. Think he is a good player to have around the squad as players seem to like him. But he is similar to gray to me both have talent but do not deliver

Iwobi is an enigma in himself.

A winger not good enough for Arsenal, not fast enough, not skilful enough and not clinical enough, also struggles to cross a ball.

Turned into more of a central midfielder under Lampard where he made a habit of getting the ball, running sidewards and then not being able to pick a pass toward. To me, he never looks tired, never looks out of breath or sweaty, it’s simply someone who doesn’t work hard enough and is happy with their 75k a week and posing with his luxurious lifestyle on Instagram.

Last 12 months of his contract and he cost 28/30m. If we could say get half back, rather then 0 then I would take it.
I'm a fan, but if Fulham's offer is good enough, he can go.
