I mean he would be. We'd be incredibly light.
selling Iwobi would hopefully be closing chapter in our terrible recent history of bad purchases.
I like him and hes certainly gifted, but it doesnt amount to much on the pitch
having said that, do NOT sell if we dont have something lined up
You mean you don't run 13k, competing with elite athletes in front of 40k when you play 5aside?You clearly play a much higher standard of 5 a side than I ever did...but I know what you mean
Yeah, the source of the Iwobi story is shocking.Isn't Iwobi out for weeks injured? I'm pretty sure it's only Everton who sign injured players.
But we need those for three attacking positions because we need a better ten than Doucoure and at the moment that comes from Iwobi / McNeil / Harrison, barring a deal that lets us play Dele, or at an absolute push, slotting in Gomes as an AM. So without Iwobi we are very very tight, as Dobbin is not really a great option yet.Dobbin
McNeil
Harrison
Danjuma
Thats enough for the 2 wide positions and with Gray + Iwobi money we could bring in a permanent signing.
Selling Iwobi also probably allows us to get some kid in to keep @Zatara happy.
If we get good money agree, gray was one of the best deal the club has made over recent seasons.
We would not need to replace Iwobi with 2 players, thats just silly. But we need those for three attacking positions because we need a better ten than Doucoure and at the moment that comes from Iwobi / McNeil / Harrison, barring a deal that lets us play Dele, or at an absolute push, slotting in Gomes as an AM. We’d have to take money for Iwobi but we’d probably need two signings to replace with very little time to replace.

Not sure anyone's paying £13 million for Iwobi with 1 year left on his contract to be honest.LW, ACM, RW we only have McNeil and Dobbin under contract beyond May).
If we can sell Gray+Iwobi for £25mil and bring in Bakayoko or Gnonto (or similar) then it leaves us with less to do next summer.
Also gives them a season to adapt and develop.

Give it a year, Onana will be the same. Can’t believe we paid £35m for him.
Someone at Everton had their pants well and truly pulled down on that deal
