selling Iwobi would hopefully be closing chapter in our terrible recent history of bad purchases.

I like him and hes certainly gifted, but it doesnt amount to much on the pitch

having said that, do NOT sell if we dont have something lined up

Until Keggers, Iwobi & the stale French baguette are gone we are reading chapter 2 of war and peace and can only close at the very end of the last chapter

We would not need to replace Iwobi with 2 players, thats just silly.

For Dyche he has mainly played RW/LW, so we would only really need 1 RWer to replace him.

We already lack a creative midfielder, that has nothing to do with Iwobi.
Badly phrased but yes I mean we need one and if Iwobi goes we’d need two.

….let’s see what Beto is like first.

His passing stats show him in the bottom 2% of the top 5 leagues in Europe and this time last year Udinese paid £5m for him.

Dobbin
McNeil
Harrison
Danjuma

Thats enough for the 2 wide positions and with Gray + Iwobi money we could bring in a permanent signing.

Dobbin isn't ready IMO. Plenty of potential, but not ready to be relied on yet.

Selling Iwobi and Gray and replacing them with a specialist right winger plus a more cultured option at centre mid would make sense.

Dobbin may be ready in 12 months to step into the Danjuma spot when his loan is over

Based off what like

Hey after all iwobi has done for this club we shouldn't impede his aspirations to play in the champions league.....sorry I meant fulham lol
I can imagine Fulham fans reading this and, rightly so in my opinion, thinking that some Everton fans are likely to end up with egg on their faces. I think we'll progress up the table once Beto is firing but Fulham are doing pretty well right now.

Thats cos he doesnt pass.

He dribbles and scores.

If he was a playmaker, his lack of passing would concern me.

the non existence of midfielders being linked suggest to me it aint happening or we need Gomes / Gbamin gone first. Of course Dele and Iwobi could play there if they are back and staying. Also once everyone is fit i would suggest a 4-2-3-1 system with Danjuma / Dele behind Beto/DCL/Chermiti. A winger and defender is my guess then

95% of posts on here today = “Selling X ( Iwobi, Gray etc.) and replacing with better will improve us” ignoring the fact that over the last two years that when we have sold a player late we have never replaced them, in that window or subsequently.

In fact we are still hoping Beto might finally be the guy to adequately replace Lukaku, sold six seasons ago when many of our fans said he was rubbish, lazy, only scores unimportant goals etc.

Now Iwobi, with his 8 assists to our next best 3 last year, is crap, only gives the ball away, never scores and will be easily replaced…

We never learn.

In fairness Eggs, I am fine with a centre forward who is greedy, better that than someone who is terrified of missing and gets rid as soon as they have sight of goal?
