If true and we did sign Brennan Johnson we would finally have a top notch rapid right winger to follow Kanchelskis.

He netted 11 goals and 5 assists for Lincoln.

He was one of the key factors in them finishing 2pts ahead of us. Put him into a better team (which we would be with him and a CF joining) and the stats will increase.

As you said he had 8 goals and 3 assists. McNeil had 7 goals and 3 assists with most of them coming under Dyche and the Everton fans weren’t happy with his fee at 15 mill.

I’d want an absolute star attacker for 40 mill and not sure Johnson is it, good player but 40 mill is a huge amount of money.

He is absolutely dreadful. I wouldnt take him unless Leeds paid a fee.

Didn’t we offer a loan with obligation of about 30m last summer? If they’d accepted we’d have already spent 30m on a player this summer, and yet people still consider it impossible for us to spend 30m on a player this summer.

If were looking at young right wingers u23 (hes 22) then could you think of any better under £40mil that we'd have a fair chance of signing?

You see this recency bias is exactly why he might be more available to Everton than some might think. Last year of a contract running out at Leicester, he downed tools for whatever reason, had no investment in the side under a series of crap gaffers

Chuck him in a new environment with some better competition in the middle of the park and see him go back to being a quality midfielder.
