Summer transfer window 2023

We desperately need a player who can make well weighted balls for Beto to run onto, we need to build the team around him.

….his strength does seem exploiting the space behind the CBs. It aligns with his very poor ‘passing stats’, I think his game is going to be all about enthusiasm and physicality. I doubt we’ll see much subtlety, he’ll be full on and some of his play will be erratic.

As you indicate, he’ll need the right service & that includes from wide positions.

Good morning mates and welcome to the 31st of August transfer round up. Beto looks good, let’s get another 2 or 3 at the same sort of level please!

Everton are on the verge of reaching an agreement with Fulham over the sale of midfielder Alex Iwobi after talks between the two clubs on Wednesday, according to the Daily Mail. The newspaper shared via its online edition on 30 August that discussions are ongoing between the two Premier League clubs.

Everton forward Tom Cannon has expressed his desire to move on from Goodison Park this summer as the academy graduate searches for first team football. Indeed, the ‘brilliant’ centre-forward has been linked with a move away from Merseyside, with Preston North End rumoured to be eager for a reunion with the 20-year-old.

Everton may have to look at other options ahead of the transfer deadline as a move for Leeds United attacker Luis Sinisterra no longer appears to be on the cards. FootballTransfers wrote on 23 August that the Toffees had turned their attention to the Colombia international, 24, in the final week of the window.

The Athletic reported on Thursday (31 August) that the fact that so many players had these clauses meant that players were in a race to see who could get out first.

That’s because FIFA imposes regulations on the number of players allowed to leave on loan in a window which has seen players like Sinisterra exercise an option that they thought they had at the start of the window

LaLiga side Cadiz are weighing up a move for Everton midfielder Jean-Philippe Gbamin late in the transfer window, according to El Desmarque. The Spanish publication posted on its website on Wednesday [30 August] that Gbamin is one of several options being considered by Cadiz ahead of the deadline on Friday [1 September].

Transfer expert Rudy Galetti has warned Leeds fans to brace themselves, as Everton prepare a daring last minute Elland Road raid for Wilfred Gnonto. The Toffee's find themselves in a sticky situation, having starting their campaign with consecutive losses against Fulham, Aston Villa and Wolves; and with less than 48 hours until the transfer window slams shut, are desperate to add to their squad.

The Daily Mail claim that Everton have added the West Ham forward Maxwel Cornet to their list of late transfer targets which to be honest is not a bad thing. Since arriving last summer for £17.8million from Burnley, he seems to have vanished from view. Cornet has managed a paltry 665 minutes in 23 appearances over two seasons in all competitions for the Hammers, per transfermarkt

According to The Athletic's Jacob Tanswell, Kamaldeen Sulemana wishes to leave Southampton following the club's relegation from the Premier League this year.

Saints beat Everton to the player's signature in January, and with manager Sean Dyche searching for a winger, the 22-year-old dynamo could finally make the move to Merseyside, with the Toffees retaining such interest, per the report.

Everton have approached Manchester United over a move for 20-year-old midfielder Hannibal Mejbri. La Liga side Sevilla are also reportedly interested in the midfielder who has made three Premier League appearances for Manchester United.

That is according to The Athletic, who report that Erik ten Hag sees Hannibal as a player who can make an impact this season, though a loan move remains a possibility.

We basically need a KDB-lite.

Would be all over a loan move for Kalvin Phillips. Would solve a lot of problems for us. How many more midfielders do City need to sign before he gets the hint he is never going to get a run of games for them
Surprised no one has approached city for him. Ideal for RS. He was better than Rice when at Leeds and playing for England. Attitude of happy sitting on the bench has ruined him maybe. Ideal for us in that 6 role

No it just proves that they’ve wasted money 💰 when was the last profitable sale? I can’t remember, there just a posher version of us

Theres a few lads in our work who are united fans.

Whenever i talk about how badly we're run, they always say that united is just the same as everton but on a larger scale.

I feel like we are trying to set the team up for wing play as the central players we have are not very creative and we are signing wide players and tall forwards.
