Summer transfer window 2023

If true and we did sign Brennan Johnson we would finally have a top notch rapid right winger to follow Kanchelskis.

He netted 11 goals and 5 assists for Lincoln.

Then 18 goals and 10 assists for Forest.

Last season 8 goals and 3 assists.

He was one of the key factors in them finishing 2pts ahead of us. Put him into a better team (which we would be with him and a CF joining) and the stats will increase.

It will be disappointing if the rumour isnt true now lol thats how good i think he is and can be lol

I like Johnson. Not sure he had a great season last year though - not sure how many of his goals were penalties and seemed to find himself out of the team towards the end of the season. I’d be very happy with him but as others have said his value is at an all time high.

Oh, and please don’t mention him in relation to Kanchelskis.

Hopefully we have some money for transfers Kean has gone for money and we sold Gordon and didn’t buy in January. We need signing if we don’t want to be in a relegation scrap again. I like for us to keep hold of are young players and build something but if a big bid comes in for Onana. would it be best to sell so we can strengthen more positions.

Ive been a fan of his since he was about 18. He's a top class player and for you to compare him with Sigurdsson seems both bizarre and peculiar.

Hi Zat,

Ok, my comparison to Sigurdsson was in regards to him being lazy, with little work ethic. Albeit, this is from the games I have watched - which is all I can draw my opinion from. If this is a bizzare take, I apologise.

8 goals and 3 assists is ok, like, but hardly game-changing numbers for us.
McNeil got 7 goals and 3 assists....

Youri Tielemans anyone?

Stock has plummeted this year but still got 'it' imo. On a free. Great passing range. Scores worldies. Looks like a fat spoilt toddler. What's not to like
Will probably get pelters for this but I wouldn't actually want Tielemans in our midfield.

He's amazing technically, but is extremely slow and doesn't really put himself about enough for me

Bit of a highlight reel player who would probably do very well at a team much better than us. At Everton though I'm not so sure.

Not a chance we could convince him to sign anyway mind...

He was always ‘just too late’ to make a tackle, or trying to find space when the opposition were on the counter.. very frustrating watch tbh

We’ve been crying out for a top class striker for the last 2 windows, but have only bought Maupay. Having been one of the lowest scoring teams, will we finally sign a decent and reliable striker? This might be difficult because of our financial position, but surely this has to be our priority as soon as possible. Time and time again we seem to wait until the last minute. I’m not saying we can go out and sign Haaland, but we should be able to acquire at least 1 striker who will dramatically improve us. There are gems out there, Brighton have found a few. Why can’t we?!

I'd say an unrealistic target,Kind Sir.

The level of persuasion its gona take to just get average players through the door is going to be massive.

We had bog average players from the Belgian league swerving us for Southampton only a couple of months ago because agents and players where getting wind of us being a complete basket case of a club and absolutely nothing has changed,if anything the waters have been muddied even more.

Were looking at window that resembles the Stracqualursi one....in my Extremely humble opinion.

Hope am wrong.
Jackson agreed terms with Bournemouth in January. Unless he went on holiday there with his parents every year as a boy and has always dreamt of playing for them, I’d say this makes him realistic for us. For all these lads is simply about getting to the PL.

He mastered the art of “looking busy”
We’ve all worked with people like this.
His running numbers were always decent, but I’ve never seen a more half hearted presser of the ball in my life. Was almost like he was scared he might win the ball back.

Look, I know we're a Premier League team and all (just) but that alone isn't going to be a big selling point

We're a terribly run Premier League football team, with a pretty below average squad, and as it looks right now we'll be lucky to survive relegation next season

That's going to limit the appeal and pull we'll have when it comes to attracting players

The three main types of players we're likely to attract in my opinion would be;

1. Journeymen players out of contract looking for a payday
2. Young players looking to use us as a stepping stone to greater things
3. Players who can't get in their current sides who are coming here for a chance to play. There'll likely be a reason why they aren't playing at their current clubs, possibly because they're not all that good

So yeah, don't get your hopes up is what I'm saying. Keep em low and you might be pleasantly surprised lol

It's possible to find enough good signings across those three groups in order for us to not be terrible next season, but it'll take some due diligence and some nous in the transfer market, and we're not normally good at that sort of thing so........

Dyche might actually be a positive in this regard, in that he seems like a straightforward type of manager who will tell you what to do, tell you what's expected of you, and will let you get on with it, which will probably appeal to some players

Plus I expect him to push back if he's not having a certain player

Its going to be a difficult summer, but disregarding the obvious needs for CM, LB or ST, we are still completely devoid of ANY creativity other then what Iwobi brings from time to time.

We need players who can unlock defences and can attack with pace (not pace and stop things like Gray).

It's only been a serious need for the last 3 seasons like.

I think this summer is going to be massively difficult and a let down, I can genuinely see the likes of Weghorst in on loan and not many inspiring signings.

Hope the club have learned and look around Europe for klarna signings.
