Martinez 3.5 million
Martin free
Dembele free
Olunga free
Cellabos free
Elanga loan
Traore free
Considering we don't know anything budgetwise until the MSP investment is resolved, I'd say the first four are as good as it can be for the meantime.

Traore has all but signed for the Saudi club. No chance Ceballos comes and Elanga is talking to Leipzig. The first four would be a very decent start, though. Then we'll see who can be shipped out. If Nice pay anything for Maupay we should have another bank holiday.

Last January we lost players who literally opted saints and Bournemouth over us! How the mighty have fallen

If you accept the idea that players were actually choosing Southampton and Bournemouth over Everton, you have to accept the idea that Everton had cash available and had matched the bids of Southampton and Bournemouth for the respective players.

I don’t think that was ever the case. The respective players never had the option of joining Everton. Everton didn’t have any money to spend, and were never at a point where they were matching what was actually being offered by Southampton and Bournemouth.

Those players never had the option of joining Everton, so they never chose Southampton or Bournemouth over Everton.

I tend to agree with you, but both players snd Danjuma were said to have be men offered deals here. I think they were indeed offered deals but they were pathetic upfront payments and drip amounts over long term (longer than usual).
There were many reports of us offering stupid payments and clubs refusing to deal with us

I know many dont like my posts and thats cool, but most of the time im playing devils advocate…and some just wont and dont get it…their is always another point or view or a more complex way of looking at things, thats all im doing.

Goals and assist is a silly way to only compare players…and if your going to do it…need to use the same parameters for both…not just spin 1 to fit your opinion.
Mate I love your posts,Shine on you crazy merkin head.X

We also need to factor In that any striker coming in will need to happy sitting on the bench for maybe 1/3 of the season…in a team not in europe.
I think at this point whoever we bring in needs to be signed with the view of being our first choice striker. We can’t keep adding rubbish back-up players who end up starting nearly every game. That’s why we’re in the mess we’re in.

Yes this is very true mate, and it depends on what Dyche and the club want to do.

If its DCL is the main striker, then we need an experienced back up, that can lead that line, and work those defenders...its not the goals as such, but how he fits into Dyche system.

Maupay was a bonkers signing, and does not fit how we play, of how we even did play when signing him....he was 4th choice of an average team at the time.

I had heard that Maupay was around number 48 on a list of attackers our Data team had put together, but everyonoe at the club ignored the Data list.

We need two strikers, so I kind of expect us to sign someone a bit underwhelming. We can't exactly afford two top strikers right now.

I would not sign Weghorst though. We need to get younger and more athletic. I don't think we should be signing any players in their late 20s or older for reasonably big fees.

yes the new forward needs to do 2 things:
- chip in 8/10 goals over the course of the season
- fit the shape we play best in , 4,4,1,1 with good hold up play and occupation of both CB's.
They do not have to be Haaland.
Thinking Id like my main striker to be in the 15-20 range, I know they cost lots of money but unless we get free scoring mid fielders in were going to be again struggling for goals

If we’re relying on DCL as our main striker going into the next season, then we will deservedly be in another relegation fight.
I don’t expect his injury troubles to just dissapear.

I don’t expect us to go out and spend £50m on a striker, but any more signings at the levels of Maupay and we’re goosed.

I think dyche will sort that out. I liked the idea of signing someone like onana last summer but was dumbfounded with our limited cash that onanas money (which is an investment in fairness) and maupays (wasted )wasn't spent on a proper center forward with dcl injury profile. if we got 20 mill for dcl I'd take it as unfortunately he is just injury prone like mina and we need to plan without him

Maybe the second one could be a loan?might get better value/player

Can’t see anyone buying DCL now. Which is probably a blow to Everton’s financial planning as at one point we could have sold him similar to Richarlison’s fee.

The advantage is that if we can get players to replace him in then we can use him when he is fit and actually have a pool of strikers with options from the bench. A crazy idea for Everton.
