Dave was correct in Jan that Dyche was the right man for the job. Everton needed to stay up and he was the best candidate to deliver, which he did. However, imo, Dyche is not going to take Everton forward. He will probably consolidate PL status next season with a bit of flirting with relegation but to put Everton where they should be (top 6/8) then Dyche is not the right man. The risk is if a new progressive manager comes in now would he keep Everton up or is another season of Dyche required to ensure safety? If there is any money for transfers I think now would be the time to get a progressive manager in that can start to shape things for the future.
Back making friends again? Did they get fed up with you on the "Villa" forum?

Oh dyche definitely deserves to take us to BMD, But by then we will have already moved on ( Contracts ) a lot more trash.
We hopefully will still be in the premiership, have a New Board and New Investors all set up and getting to grips with running a club ( the right way )

So once we enter BMD It will be a complete fresh start, and that probably for the best, means Manager aswell...
Hopefully it will be a fresh start. My worry is that it will give the board a stay of execution as the increase in revenue will cover over the cracks. To move forward properly I think Moshiri needs to go and a complete clean sweep of the entire management.

His best football was under Martinez.

He declined under Martinez though. 13/14 he was one of the best attacking mids in the league, running the el goth of the pitch, scoring direct free kicks, fearless. By the end of his time with Martinez he couldn’t decide on a five yard pass. At times he needed dropping, resting, and playing in a different position and Martinez did none of these things. Just kept telling him how great he was as he was getting worse and worse.

Barry gave him the achilles chop in training, he came back awful and was booed and had never been the same since.

He hasn't played a competitive game in four years, bizzare decision.
He's on pittance (in PL footballing terms), fills the home-grown quota and is used in a quais-coaching for Pickford, or that's what I'm telling myself.

With Begovic not taking up his contact offer, I think there was little other option to extend otherwise we'd be going into the summer with one experienced keeper.

And his extra-curricula activities had nothing to do with that loss of form? Have we changed the reason he went wayward and left? Or was his attitude, demeanour and lifestyle Martinez fault?

I honestly think Martinez is one of the worst gaffers out there, not lampard bad but still a dolt.

Think that was more down to the fact he doesn't understand tactics.

Sarri got the best out of him at Chelsea as a footballer. Played him deeper as a proper CM and rotated with Kovacic.

Finished 3rd. Started the league cup final. Won a Europa League. 3 goals. 5 assists.

But apparently he's always struggled tactically compared to just being free.

There is no manager that could come in now and deliver consistent top 6/8 finishes for us. The outlook is extremely grim for both the short and medium term. We are sell before we can buy with very few assets we can sell.

Even with the new stadium opening next year the additional revenues will be nullified for many years by the interest payments we will be paying on the required loan. The only way out in the short term would be state takeover like a Newcastle or a Man City.

Nobody knows for sure what Dyche is capable of because his whole premier league career he has been competing with an arm tied behind his back. I personally prefer a more pragmatic approach as long as it is aggressive with the team pressing and getting the crowd involved. We don’t have a lot of patience for the tippy tippy stuff here. It would be nice if we can add a little bit of quality to the group to help.

I think we should be ok next year due to the 3 teams coming up. I expect two of those to go down. The season after we are in big trouble unless we have get ourselves organised off the pitch as some big teams will be coming back up and we lose the Goodison atmosphere

So it is a combination of both the English and the bias. If you don't think Everton needed to be concerned about Leicester I really can't understand you. Do you realise it came down to 1 goal on the final day between Everton and Leicester as to which team was relegated? Can you not understand that was reason for concern?

Leicester were above us when they appointed Smith?
