Summer transfer window 2023

He's on pittance (in PL footballing terms), fills the home-grown quota and is used in a quais-coaching for Pickford, or that's what I'm telling myself.

With Begovic not taking up his contact offer, I think there was little other option to extend otherwise we'd be going into the summer with one experienced keeper.
I doubt Begovic leaving was a last minute decision so more backroom bungling. Points are going to be vital and if God forbid Pickford gets injured Lonergan or a kid between the sticks is a disaster waiting to happen. I always try my best to support any manager we appoint (well except for the obvious exception) but so many red flags are popping up concerning Dyche. Seems his end of season statement was nothing but hot air.

What’s the red flags?. I’m not being being genuine question.

And his extra-curricula activities had nothing to do with that loss of form? Have we changed the reason he went wayward and left? Or was his attitude, demeanour and lifestyle Martinez fault?

Oh they undoubtedly did but I think a Moyes type manager might have dealt with them as well. I’m not sure the number 10 position was his best one, he may have even better in a three, and there were times he needed dropping and disciplining. He didn’t help himself but he didn’t have the right manager either.

The goalkeeper situation, offering contacts to players who should have gone seasons ago. Apparently he wants to play with power and pace... Davies??
Begovic turned down a contract for certain reasons either he wants to focus on other things or play more minutes. Coleman one is logical given are limited funds as cover. Davies is one that I scratch my head at, but let’s just see what happens in the window first.

But still doubt the Begovic decision came out of the blue. Coleman has just had knee surgery so who knows how he'll be coming back,so in any sensible club the offer of a new contract would depend on his recovery. Dyche made a strong statement which appears to be just a sound bite.
