Just a question as i genuinely dont know but is it Dyche who makes those decisions or is it Thelwell or a combination of the 2?
No idea, but then neither do they. You'd imagine Dyche would discuss the type of set up he's looking at and Thelwell would identify players who'd fit it. But it's looking more like they are just saying what they think the supporters want to hear.

Scott McTom gives me Cleverly vibes.

He’s quicker and stronger than Cleverley. He’s not a bad player at all except he’s suffered from playing with Fred under Solskjaer and Rangnick at United and is now behind Casemiro.

He’s usually available, consistently solid, and has a good attitude about him. I could see why Dyche would want him. If the Roxie is right then could be a good deal but it depends what’s happening with Onana. If he’s playing DM next season then there’s no point buying McTominay, if we’re selling Onana then getting McTominay to replace him and buying attacking players wouldn’t be disastrous.

I would just be interested to know who makes the decision to offer current players new contracts. Is it Thelwell or Dyche? Does anyone know? Does Dyche just get told"we are skint so you are keeping them" or does he actually have a serious input?

It should be that thelwell decides the set up and managers that suit that set up are brought in. Otherwise, not point in a dof

Makes no odds if it’s open or not can still actively seek and make deals so everything is in place come the 14th or whenever it opens. Look across the park at them lot signed mac allister
I'm sure we are actively seeking deals though. And with the reds, that's an easy deal to do, just pay his release clause. They got praise for doing early business with Darwin too but were had over on price, it's easy for these big clubs to do early business if you just pay whatever number the club is asking for, not necessarily sensible business though. Just don't see any need for any concern that we've not got anything wrapped up yet, a club in our position, like most clubs that aren't mega rich, need to negotiate hard and that takes time.

For me it's the statement Dyche made after the Bournemouth game is starting to sound like BS.As stated earlier if you say your going to play next season with pace and power you don't offer contracts to the likes of Davies and Coleman.
They could well be squad players. We may only sign 3-4 players that fit the criteria that dyche said after that game. We already have players like doucoure, onana, Patterson who either have power, pace or both. This is going to to take serval windows to get this lot sorted.
