How are you working out he knocks 20-30% off players value, or doesn't improve players.

At Burnley he operated on a very tight budget, so would have to have improved players to survive. Off the top of my head, Ings, Pope, Wood, McNeil, Tarkowsi, Mee, Collins, Keane all improved under him.

Just because he doesn't have a fancy foreign name, doesn't mean he doesn't improve players. This season, Doucoure, McNeil and Gana all improved subtantially.
So did the Attitude and Belief of the squad, that we will Survive...

I really would not be so afraid of moving Gray or a Iwobi yes they have contributed but we are a team that doesn't score goals, we need forwards who score and assist. If we get good bids for one or both we move on. We are team that has failed in forward areas for two years and they are two of the main players in that failure. Gray had been a pretty good buy for the price but is inconsistent and Dyche won't play him on a wing because he doesn't track back. Iwobi has skill and can create chances but he doesn't score nearly enough goals, do we really want to commit ourselves to another big contract with him? If we get good bids for either I would sell, and reinvest. We need to start actually buying the prospects we scout.

Totally agree with this.

Once we get to BMD Than yes, that will be the case for half our squad and even probably the manager. Firstly we have to get there whilst still being in the top flight, we need New Investors with a complete Board revamp. as for this window people have got to stop dreaming we're flush with cash that we're actually allowed to spend.

The money we'd receive for either of those players would not be enough to replace with better quality !
And that is how the market is gonna go for us this window, we are going to have to bring in what we can than spend.

As for posters saying sell Pickford, sorry but you're off your Trolley's. Can't think of a worse decision given what he's done for us and saved us Twice now.

Imagine if we got him instead of Maupay when he was linked last tummer.

Dumfries went for 25m. We spent 1.7m that summer and still have ended up with FFP charges. The reason we didn't sign him is nothing to do with whether he was or wasn't good enough.
I know the details , and believe it or not there was a possibility to get that deal done , the manager and bizzarly a lot of the fanbase didn't think he was good enough lol.

That was my reference There.

He is not a right back. Weeded a right back.

Dumfries went to Inter for around £10 million didn't he? We spent almost double on Mykolenko.

A right wing back vs a left full back.

You are only ever going to get about £40-50m for him at the absolute max. Due to the fact he has had to play behind a woeful defence and midfield for so long he just doesn't quite have the numbers some of the other big name keepers do. I also think we could find a better GK coach than Alan Kelly, that's a job for the boys appointment who seems to have stayed through a variety of setups meaning a number of managers were unable to get their own choice in.

We signed him for 30m as a young Gk with potential …. He’s now England number 1 , is coming into his prime, is on a 5 year contract and player prices have soared in the time he’s been here.

He doesn’t have the numbers, that true, but they know why. They know he plays for us.

If they want him it means that they see him as a better player than the 375k a week gk they have now. Which means he’s worth a lot more than 30m and I’d say that we should be quoting them 80m and I be willing to accept 60-70m

however, saying that. JP is the last player we need to sell imo

Get what you are saying I get we have a small budget, but with Iwobi we have to either accept he will leave on a free next summer, or sell him or we offer him a new big contract we are tied into a player who although he makes chances isn't a match winner regularly, doesn't score enough goals. He's on big wages if we could get a good offer for him and can invest that money. We should be looking to sell Keane, Holgate, Gomes, Gbamin, and possibly Onana depending on the bids too(if we do we need another midfielder). I wouldn't sell Pickford unless the bid is too good to turn down. We do have to be crafty with some loans and frees as well, but if we can move a few of those on we could invest in a decent striker/wide forward. This summer we need minimum a back up keeper, left back, center back, right wing/forward, a striker maybe two.

….loved his goal at Goodison but I’m not convinced he’s what we need.
Hes a very good player, Tielemans, but I would be worried bringing in any of the ‘big name’ players from Leicester. Whatever the reason, they did not pull their weight and thats why Leicester is now in the championship.
