Yeah the results aren't going to show up with this management which really is the whole problem here. We need players to develop and get better in a sound system and as long as we don't have that there's not going to be improvement no matter who plays for us.

To me both teams were bad but I'd prefer the 22/23 team. And I'm likely going to prefer the 23/24 team if we move on Pickford and buy outfield players.
Fair enough. Well said

Any potential Pickford deal shouldn’t involve Henderson. I don’t rate him that highly and we’ll end up over valuing him in the deal. If we have to sell Pickford rinse them for cash and buy a different keeper.

Remember United are the club that screwed us under Silva when we were ready to pay a lot of money for a CB either Smalling or Rojo and they left us in the lurch on the last day and then let both leave for absolute pittance rather than strengthen us even though we’d always dealt with them fairly for Rooney and Lukaku.

We shouldn’t deal with United Spurs or Chelsea unless we absolutely have to.
They were still laughing for doing us over with Schneiderlen.

It's the reason the board and owner need to go that they have mismanaged us to the point where we can sell Gordon for 45m and STILL need to sell (reportedly) before we buy.

No you're right I'm not including Tarkowski. But I'd say Onana, Maupay, McNeil and Garner are all because of that sale. I'll take those four over the one and I'll probably do it again this summer.

Well the your mental

I'm not even a huge Garner guy but having a combo of him and Onana was so much better than playing Davies and Gomes. McNeil did enough to replace Richarlison too. We were better off.

And selling Pickford wouldn't even be replacing the hard part of football recruitment. It remains a no brainer to me

Agree with @TheBigIguana here.

Richarlison went for £50mil rising to £60mil.

That enabled us to spend £33mil Onana, £12mil Maupay, £15mil McNeil £9mil Garner = £69mil.

I'd say we could sell on the low side Onana £60mil, Maupay £8mil, McNeil £20mil, Garner £15mil = £103mil if needed.

If we managed to get £50mil from Pickford then perhaps we could spend another £69mil on 4 players whose values overall would rise substantially over the next 12months.

Having a £20mil keeper and £50mil on forwards could make a big difference to the team....before including other sales to increase those numbers further.

Also, although 29 isnt high for a keeper, his value at this point will only decrese.

If we did that though the key would be replacing the keeper, midfield and striking positions properly. I am still struggling to have faith we appear to scout well but when the process comes into play with board and owner they often play it safe so you end up with a Maupay. We did buy some good players last summer, but arguably defence and midfield is easier to recruit for. Forward and goalkeeper positions are critical.
