Summer transfer window 2023

Apparently Noni Madueke is available for loan from Chelsea. He looked like one of the few bright sparks last season for them. Might be worth a punt.

Hudson Odoi will up too. Last 12months of his contract.

Unless the lad has fallen off a cliff and wants to take a huge paycut....

Does anyone know what our current wages bill is?

Being report on the Radio this morning that Leicesters is £185m out of £210m income (or something like that)

Money to be cut by 2/3 due to relegation .. ooch!
That surprises me. I had assumed Leicester were doing well financially selling players for huge fees over the last few years like Fofana for £70M and those below. They must really have messed up with paying enormous wages to bad players in order to absorb all that. It's incredible.

Their net spend isn't too hot and they clearly just overegged their wage bill.

These Saudi deals will shape our transfer window.

Arsenal selling Thomas Partey
Chelsea selling Kante, Mendy, Koulibaly and Ziyech.
Man United still not sorted De Gea contract.

I think we have options on Pickford and Onana.

We also have players who would be interested in Saudi Arabia:
Gbamin, Gomes, Gray, Maupay
but would Saudi be interested in them ?

If we keep the same squad and add a decent CF we will be transformed
I think sometimes it gets forgotten that it's only for the lack of a decent striker that we struggled for points. Had DCL been available all season I'm sure we'd have been comfortably mid-table. Still not satisfactory for a club of our standing but at least better than constantly looking over our shoulder

Most of those signings were down to Steve Walsh.

Leicester used him as a head scout and got that lot, we used him as a DoF and got Lookman.

Anyone got any takes on what might be a realistic summer for us?

Assuming our club only has the headspace and skill to conclude about 6 transfers in and out in any given window, i'm hoping for this

OUT
Keane
Holgate
Maupay

IN
Striker
Wide Attacker
CB

I just can't think of anyone - not even one idea - of whom we might get.
Dreaming of a Richarlison loan, one player from Leeds and maybe another young ish CB

No chance we sell two CB's considering we've already lost two in Mina and Coady. I suspect it will be one in, one out there.

Along with probably a striker, winger, LB and backup GK.

That will change if Onana or Pickford go.

would love to see it, but would it realistically happen?

Apparently he doesn't want another loan but a perm transfer if he's not gonna play. Italian clubs are interested. But I think Arsenal would price him out of a perm move (£40-50mill IMO).

Just think there would be a chance of saying - he'll be first choice at a prem club to prove if he's ready at this level. Then you can keep or sell.

Keane is going nowhere.

The turd that will not flush.

You could be pushing it down with the bog brush and the bugger still won't go.
He nearly got a move last January to Southampton, the only issue now is going to be Dyche and the fact he is happy to play Keane.
