Myko is such a weird signing. Like, he’s not the worst player I’ve ever seen but if you’re scouting the whole of Europe what’s makes you stop at him? Normally even if a player has flaws they have one or two standout characteristics whether it’s pace or strength or a gifted left foot. He’s just a nothing player and I just don’t understand what’s caught the eye.
Maybe it was his incredibly square shoulders?

Sadly Holgate still has 2 years left on his deal, I can't see anyone paying money for him right now. But at least with a loan if he does well, there's a chance the loaning club may wish to make the deal permanent the following season.
Delli Alli
Andre Gomes
G'bamin
How did they work out.

No more loans unless its a full obligation to buy.

Gibson was like Mina, class when fit but just never available so unfortunately not a good signing

I’m not sure how I feel about Rooney’s return season. Off the top of my head he scored ten goals. 3 were in one game against West Ham. One was against Arsenal when we got destroyed something like 5-1. A couple of pens (one into the kop which was nice of course). But he made us slow and that whole window signing him, Sigurdsson, Klaasen and Vlasic at the same time was a joke and such bad mismanagement I don’t think he was a good signing either.

Had we put pace around Rooney, he could have used his class a little bit more.

I still think we were right to cash in on him the following summer, but had we got say half decent raplcement for Lukaku and a pacey wide forward that summer for Rooney to try and feed we'd have comfortably got Europe again imo

With Gomes and Gbamin, we paid 20 + mil for each so we'd like to recoup as much as that as possible. Apparently Lille do want Gomes, they are just cash strapped.

At least with Holgate, we only paid like 3 mil for him, I don' think there's too much call to try and get a good fee for him.

I understand where you are coming from, though.

Now you’re talking my language, would be mad of them to let him go having been promoted mind. Feels a bit Brennan Johnson.

Apparently he's got 1 year left on his deal. He might be reluctant to sign a new deal as it'd make it more difficult for him to get a move, and from the club's perspective this could be their last chance to get a fee for him.

I listed to the Results Business Podcast yesterday (Esk and Rodger Armstrong). Esk did not speculate on the split of the pie but Andy Bells bridging loan of £40m comes out of this I think, with a small portion going towards working capital/transfer expenditure.

What was most interesting to me was the suggestion that any prospect of commercial funding for the stadium seems to be unlikely and indeed uneconomical now with interest rates and general inflation.

It was suggested that MSP will have to fund the remainder of the stadium through another couple of fundraising tranches and this is how they'll acquire a majority holding, such that Moshiri will only be a minor investor by its completion.

I get the sense of competition rather than co-operation between Moshiri and MSP which is worrying. Two different parts of the club pulling in different directions. That cannot mean harmony at boardroom or any other level, if true.
I wouldnt believe anything at all the Esk or his sidekick says.

I keep hearing the other clubs that want our players are cash strapped.
Well guess what , so are we.
The club needs to adopt some hard nosed business idea's and stop being a charity.

We've a long history of this going right back to Yobo.

No more loans.

You know I’d agree with you if Keane hadn’t been dropped for the important games at the tail end of the season.

I think Dyche saw what he’s become and would let him leave.
true so only some team offering decent money for Keane would mean Dyche consider him leaving. A loan or something will leave us short to get replacements.

for me i hope Maupay, Gbamin and Gomes still leave the club and we get a decent fee for Gray. The rest may stay (although Godfrey might be added to the list based on last season's form)

And if a club doesn't want a loan with obligation then the player is stuck at Everton on full wages. At least a loan saves some money if the player is simply not going to get a look in at Everton
