If we had a chunk of cash I'd do a Holgate + cash for Ndiaye and also a Gomes + cash for Jonathan David....and bring in Balogun too.

Over £100mil on top of the 2 players though so very unlikely.

The MSP group must surely see value in having Balogun (US) and David (Canada) seeing as along with Mexico theyre 2 of 3 locations for the 2026 world cup.
Yeah could maybe see the ndiaye deal of the lad is happy to come here they get cash and and player. Dont think david would be a dyche player.

It is catch 22. I agree with the principle of what you are saying but when it comes to the end of the transfer window and the manager says he doesn't want a player and a club offer a loan that is worth maybe a million or two to the club's finances it would be difficult to say no.
Of course
In Holgates case he has 2yrs left , goes on loan comes back and then negotiate a deal with another club and walk away on a free .
Not at all what we need or want.

Is Ndiaye a Dyche type player though? Had he joined when we were making offers for him?

I read that they want £17mil for him, surely we could stump up £10-12mil + Holgate?

….when you give ordinary footballers extraordinary contracts it’s very difficult to shift them. Clubs wont match their salaries & players are unwilling to lose a fortune, so sit on their deals.

That's football.

One club's unwanted player is another clubs wanted player.

PSG didn't want Gana Gueye. 33, last year off his deal, wanted to move to Everton, well past it, but they still fought for every penny and got it.

Hull, desperately fighting relegation, wanted Niasse. We loaned him.

Mirallas and Walcott were decent enough profile - we loaned both, one to another Premier League team.

Besic, loan with us paying his wages to Middlesbrough for 2 years? Then to Sheff Utd for a year before letting him go for nothing.

Even more recently, no way we got Niels Nkounkou's worth in transfer fee.

Teams will chance taking players on loan from us before buying - even in January we had Moyes saying they'd take Keane on loan.

We've been woeful at flogging players for years.

Dont kno alot about the lad is he a attacking mid is he who can play across the front 3 aswell i thought. I could see him being the mid we could look at and then still look for a target man as cf

His stats show him playing Centre forward, second striker, attacking midfield...with his best results coming in the latter two roles.

I'd guess he would be rotating then replacing Doucoure so ideally we would have a midfield 3 of:

Garner(22) Onana(21)
Ndiaye(23)
Very long term thinking and far better than anything weve seen in a long long long time.
