It appears to be anywhere between £10m-£35m based on a variety of sensible/mental sources. The only sensible comment so far is from Alan Myers who said it was a "good offer". That to me suggests its in the ballpark of £12m-£15m.
£15m is what we paid for Maupay and Gray is far more effective, so it's too low in my view. Who could we really buy with that, and I don't care about any amortisation period.

If you are looking for a cheap CB and or CDM for strength in depth you could do a lot worse than Callum Chambers. still only 28 and Emery is not a fan, he sent him out on loan at Arsenal and doesn't play him at Villa. But when he has played for Villa he has done well and is a clever player. He was out on loan at Fulham (from Arsenal) and he won their Player of the Season playing as CDM. He is not world class but he has lots of PL experience, got a few caps for England, and is a very competent backup or starter for a PL side. Villa signed him for free and he is out of favour so he would probably be ridiculously cheap for a PL CB that has experience.
The type of player we should be avoiding. Any club with a competent scouting network could find better from the continent prepared to play for a third of the salary. Sadly we don’t have such a network so this is the type of player we sign.

He’s exactly the sort of player our imbecilic director of football would look at.

U may find a better CB in terms of quality and possible future value but u are not going to find any CB on the continent with as much experience in the PL as Chambers. It is a suggestion as a backup that would be used to cover for injury or maybe when u want to see out a game. That is not when an inexperienced player with potential is needed. Also, he is on about 45k a week at Villa, you are not going to get anyone coming to Everton and accepting 15k a week unless you are trying to pad out the u23s

He’s absolutely abysmal. This is a windup?

He is not abysmal. He reads the game well and is a great passer of the ball. He lacks pace which limits him but he suits CDM as he uses his intelligence more than speed. I suggested it as a backup to someone that said you needed more backup as CB and CDM and he can cover both.

Need a backuo that is good enough to be a starter also again at cdm he would be after gana, garner and onana who can all play as a dm. Just dont see any upside in getting him in

Fire ahead. Why is it such a challenge to discuss football rather than judge me by my username?
You’re fine. I think it’s more that you’re pushing Chambers than your user name. However, I would swap him for Keane, Holgate, and Godfrey so it’s not exactly that outlandish. Keep going. Just ignore the negativity. Unless of course you are on a wind up haha.
