I don’t mind Iwobi due to the running about and effort. But the simplest way to sum him up is that if he left tomorrow creating a hole in the squad, to replace him you would pick a totally different sort of player on almost every physical and technical attribute apart from stamina.
Absolutely right. Iwobi has done a job for us. He's not a world beater but he is by no measure a disaster. Some of the vitriol directed at him on here makes no sense to me. But when he goes we will not be looking for a like for like replacement.

He is not abysmal. He reads the game well and is a great passer of the ball. He lacks pace which limits him but he suits CDM as he uses his intelligence more than speed. I suggested it as a backup to someone that said you needed more backup as CB and CDM and he can cover both.
Hasn’t he got an instagram thing? You can post this to him directly mate, saves you writing all out in here especially when it sounds like you want to keep hold of him. While you’re at it, if you wouldn’t mind passing this on (I’m not agreeable to apps):

“Callum, I don’t think you are very good. You wouldn‘t improve this Everton squad who just finished 17th and you are a player, let go by Arsenal, while they retained Rob Holding instead. Incidentally Rob Holding wouldn’t improve this squad either so don’t feel too sad. All the best at Villa collecting 25k more a week than what you’re worth. Ta ta.”

Many thanks.

Tosun
Gbamin
Mykolenko
Godfrey
Maupay

Etc, etc.

Tosun is close but cost less money, was on less wages and had a goal involvement every 159 minutes for us.

Gbamin was again less money and the club are to blame for his injuries that lead to his downfall.

Mykolenko, Godfrey haven't set the world alight but haven't completely failed in their roles like iwobi has.

Maupay is abysmal but was less the half of what iwobi cost.

But Chambers in 28, probably on good wages, and would not get into our team in midfield. He is worse than Gana, by some distance.

So we would be buying a 28 year old, presumably for reasonable money (I doubt he will be free) with no sell on value, who makes us worse if he plays. If would be a ridiculous signing, and a repetition of the stupidity we have shown in the market previously.

You’re fine. I think it’s more that you’re pushing Chambers than your user name. However, I would swap him for Keane, Holgate, and Godfrey so it’s not exactly that outlandish. Keep going. Just ignore the negativity. Unless of course you are on a wind up haha.

I genuinely wouldn't swap him for Godfrey. And honestly it would be stupid swapping him for the other 2 as well.

Agree to disagree. Holgate is the biggest farce of a player we have, and Godfrey after years is still positionless and not good at anything besides being ridiculously unaware of his surroundings. Keane is Keane.

The Keane Holgate thing is we just need to move them on. Swapping them for other bad players is self defeating.

Godfrey is at least younger than Chambers, so by some miracle may turn out ok, whereas Chambers will always be poor
