Don't know a lot about Palace, did they have a fit CF and a back up?Well it turned out that Roy Hodgson was the genius late season managerial appointment but hindsight is 20/20
That the fella from The Housemartins?#WelcomeTomHeaton
Obviously they had more firepower upfront. Can't remember who played when or who was injured but Zaha, Mateta, Bentley and Ayew must have been available in some combo most of the time. Having said that, I was joking...Don't know a lot about Palace, did they have a fit CF and a back up?
As with most things to do with our club we never will know who they did or didn't consider or approach. The foreign managers you mention have by and large taken on projects in the top 8-10 clubs with money to buy players and not broke clubs with challenging squads in the relegation zone. You don't know if someone is willing to take the job unless you actually ask them in the first place. We will only look at managers who have managed in the PL before. It's an extremely limited market and tbh in recent years the best managers throughout the league have generally come into the league with no PL experience. There is a whole world of managers out there and at the time of Lampard leaving there were numerous foreign names who were out of work who could have easily taken and done the job but we will never know as we didn't ask them.
I don't think that is the case at all. He was a young lad(still is) who had played very little football at a high level.Don't disagree but how sad is that 'only this time last year'? I'm sure most neutrals would say that Onana made the wrong decision. His equivalent this year, faced with a similar choice, would be forced to think twice
That just isn't true mate, I never mentioned any actual names so you have no idea who I am actually referring too.As with most things to do with our club we never will know who they did or didn't consider or approach. You mentioned foreign managers,I didn't suggest by name. That just isn't true mate, I never mentioned any actual names so you have no idea who I am actually referring too.
You are saying they all went to top clubs though which is wrong. This is well off topic for the thread anyway so I'm going to leave it for now before I get told off.You mentioned foreign managers,I didn't suggest by name.
I think giving a reasoned opinion won't get you "told off" I was just interested in your statement and which managers you were thinking of.You are saying they all went to top clubs though which is wrong. This is well off topic for the thread anyway so I'm going to leave it for now before I get told off.
Enjoy your day
Hey, I'm not a neutral eitherI don't think that is the case at all. He was a young lad(still is) who had played very little football at a high level.
More than anything we were signing potential. Now, after a solid but not spectacular first season there are some of the biggest clubs monitoring his progress.
If he does well this season we will be fending off bids for him in twelve months time, we may even have bids coming in this window.
I would expect Onana is very happy with how the move is working for him.
Agree and this pretty much is to what I referred earlier.Looking like the board are not attempting to fight relegation next season. All seems very accepting and ominous. They probably believe the fans deserve to club to go down.
Gomes, Gbamin and Alli will be just like new signings. An entire new midfield that. Good times.Don’t you just love it when you see a new post by Everton on instagram, get all excited wondering what if this is a new signing?? only to see some of the lads throwing ping pong balls into cups, great stuff Everton, let’s hit the ground running
